I had a lot of issues with creases on either side at the start, tried the putty and found it next to useless and very messy. A better product for me was a type of gel (which I don’t need nowadays) made by Trio Healthcare.
If I’m going somewhere, I’d have a set of everything with me-wipes to clean up, wipes to dry, new bag, flange extenders, my extra adhesive lollipops, disposal bag and a change of clothes!
That’s brilliant Ann-do it once and you’ll do it again!
Cancer took so much from me, and it took me so long to recover from my surgery, that I’m more determined than ever to do everything I love to do. I was very worried about flying, I won’t lie, but I did it and then did it again and we got booking more holidays for this year.
I’m so pleased you’re getting to Spain-you’ll get confidence from that trip to do another one I’m sure. xx
Hi everyone,
Agree with Sarah re changing in the morning.
However, my bag lasts only 1.5 days so I change once in the morning and another time at bedtime. My husband came out with a good idea to cut kitchen towels each sheet in half fold and filled a big sandwich bad and I just open and take it little sheet when I need and they much better absorbing than dry wipes. I use for cleaning dry wipes dip in warm water and kitchen towels for drying and absorbing wee.
A stoma nurse, while I was still in the hospital, suggested attaching a new bag while standing up because when you sit down you tend to lean forward and press on a stoma, but I tried only once or twice. I need to sit down to get the old bag off and then standing up was causing more dribbling. I try to stretch my leg straight and lean back a bit, still dribbles a bit but I find it easier.
Hope that helps.
Take care.

Hi Dorota
I agree about the kitchen towels being much more absorbent than dry wipes. I buy packs of 3 large “heavy duty” kitchen rolls and this works much better than dry wipes for me. I don’t stand to change my bag either, as I was also having more dribbling! xx
