Hi, just a very quick post to let you know that I brought him home this afternoon, the doctors were so pleased with him. Everything’s going ok so far and I have given my first injection tonight (blood thinner!) I’ll be an expert in 24 days.

I’m a bit busy as you can imagine but wanted to take time out, to thank you all of you, for  all your advice and support, you all helped us more than you know. I’m certain I’ll be asking for help very soon, probably tomorrow,  but for now I feel extremely happy...thank you Hugging

    Good news.

Remember, please, you can only look after husband if you look after yourself first, so do take some time out for yourself.

As always I am always here for you whenever you need a chat.

    Take care

    Ian

  • Hi Ian, thanks for thinking of me, so thoughtful. It’s very early days, we’re very much beginners and it’s very reassuring to know your there to help and support.

    Kind regards, Budge Hugging

    Hi Budge

Thats great news he’s home already now he can start getting better as nothing like being back at home to recover. Yes any questions just ask we are all here. Danni x

  • Hi,  everything seems to be going well, he’s still very positive and has even ventured out for a very small walk, within sight of our home.

I am helping him change his stoma bag, which has daily output now, (if that’s the right term) but only because his bottom is uncomfortable/painful  after his APR surgery, so he finds it difficult to sit at the right angle.  On that, could you advise as to how long it takes to heal, we realised on leaving hospital we didn’t ask whether he had dissolving stitches or what. Any dressings are slowly just coming off.

He has an appointment next Tuesday with his stoma nurse, we are awaiting a date to discuss biopsy results with his surgeon.

I’m slowly getting to grips with the low residue diet, thankfully it won’t be forever.

Finally, I would have contacted you direct but can’t find the link to contact a friend.

    Regards, Budge Hugging

  • Hi . Your husband sounds to be doing really well (supported by his able assistant) and going out for little walks is a great idea.

If you want to contact somebody privately then click on their name and it will take you to their profile page. You can click ‘add as a friend’ (which is under their name) and, once they accept, you can message them privately by going to your own profile page (click on your own name at the top right of the screen), then click on My Friends down the left-hand side and then you can private message any of your friends.

Hope that helps - I’m not very good at screen shots and stuff like that!

    Take care

  • That’s brilliant, thanks Hugging

  • Hi Karen, Just an afterthought, if you have a iPhone, pressing the power button and home key at same time, gives you a screen shot. I’ve attached image of instructions. BudgeHugging
