Three weeks after reversal - Signed Off!

I saw my consultant yesterday & he's very happy with my progress since the stoma reversal almost 3 weeks ago. One or two normal bowel movements a day, but troublesome wind at night (he's recommended Wind Ease, which I will try) though funnily enough I had no problems last night! The wound is healing well, I'll be driving again this week and getting back to tennis in October, hurray! I'm gradually reintroducing fibre with no ill effects so far. So now I can recover from the reversal and look forward to our holiday at the end of November (with maybe a cheeky trip to France, & Scotland again to see my daughter and grandchildren. ) I have a CT scan, blood test and colonoscopy to look forward to in January, keeping everything crossed that the 7 chemo treatments have nuked any loitering cells. It's been a long journey, started a year ago with yet another visit to my GP & finally a referral...to those of you about to start treatment, or are continuing, I got through this by taking one step at a time, being positive, exercising when I could, and making sure that I took any help and support from friends and family when it was offered. I'll continue to post recipes in Dining with an Ostomate, so look out for them. Good luck! Get in touch you have questions, I'm happy to help if I can. X

Great to hear you’re doing so well ! My daughter is 2 weeks post reversal and seems to be doing well ( once she got over the first week where she was very sick ) I’m just wondering though if you were passing and blood with bowel motions since the reversal ? My daughter has started passing some and I’m not sure if this is normal or not ?
