Hello All,
I’m wondering if any of you have a supplier recommendation. I’ve been using Coloplast Charter - this was who the hospital set me up with at the beginning - and they’ve declined in my estimation. They are quick and keep you in the loop about prescriptions and order dispatch but they keep failing to pre-cut my bags. When I’ve contacted them about it they just want to send me some more which is not the answer as far as I’m concerned!
Should I just stop moaning because obviously it could be much worse - I find it difficult but I can cut my own bags!
Any thoughts welcome. Thanks.
Adhesive remover is a bugbear with me. I am allowed 2 cans per order, but I often run out. Luckily someone in my stoma group meetings gets too much so she gave me a can last time I was at a meeting! She can’t get enough wipes! It’s mad!!

Oh, you’ll be having a new surgery-I’d forgotten that, Jane. I hope they will be more generous toward your requests.

It’s shocking when you can’t even get seen. I much prefer my new gp-I’ve refused to be on the list of 2 gps at my surgery because they caused me such problems.
Now the Phlebotomist has left/gone and he was the only person that could get blood from me. I have a bloods appointment with a nurse in 2 weeks so hoping that won’t be a wasted journey!

I hope you get somewhere with the nurse.I looked through my medical notes and letters recently and it was over 2 years post op before I saw a gp at the surgery.Prior to cancer I hadn’t seen a gp for over 6 years.Your new gp sounds good.It makes a real difference to find someone decent.xx
I wasn’t even registered with a gp surgery for 8 years when I moved here, and my very first visit led to my cancer referral and diagnosis. Then I never saw anyone there -the only contact was by phone. My new gp is very easy on the eye(!) but most importantly listens to me and gets things done. I hope you get on better with your new surgery, Jane.

I’m in Berkshire and we’ve changed to a regional system stoma nurse approval system rather than prescription through the GP last year. When it started it was administered by Bullens and they’d have liked me to change but I was happy with Coloplast at that point. My stoma nurse at the hospital had advised me to not change unless things were really bad. She said they always over promised and under delivered!
I agree it is terribly annoying when you can’t stop the complimentary items. As you say, they’re being paid for somehow and it’s just a waste.
You’re right Jane - we don’t need any extra problems! It is frustrating- mostly my products have been ok but they implied the same with me that when some samples they sent me failed it was my fault.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
