I was born a Roman Catholic but find their strict rules quite archaic, I believe in god and have just started to accept Jesus as well I think? I would dearly love to have a discussion with someone who is trained in these matters but not sure who to approach some help and guidance would be gratefully received..

I am Mike and I help out across the Community and also on here. I became a believer over 52 years ago when I was a long haired spotty faced 16 year old....... it's great that you are looking to connect with your Faith further.
You can obviously chat on here with the group members........ but at this point in time you may want to look into attending an Alpha Course in your area as this works through all the aspects of Faith.
