I've been told they found lung cancer and am in a forum for that. I'm a big believer in God and prayers.. and I could use lots of prayers that whatever they've found can be dealt with and the ease in my heart cause I cant stop asking the big man why me? What do you have planned for me cause I cant see the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm scared..

  • Hi  and welcome to this little corner of the community.

Our corner has a good few members but as you see the activity comes and goes...... I think this is just a reflection on how most people's cancer journeys develop, be it living with cancer or supporting someone with cancer.

It is normal to feel as you do....... I think it initially is the unknown and the uncertainty that get at you...... but most people find that the noise between the ears starts to calm down once a clear treatment plan is in place.

Leaning into your Faith is very important, yes we can at times all ask "why me"........ I have been on my incurable blood cancer journey for over 24 years now, my cancer is very rare (See my story) but from day one I never asked the why me? question....... my thinking was more like....... "rather me than my family....... and now my 4 granddaughters".

There is indeed light at the end of the tunnel..... as you have Faith and that is The Light.

Are you active in a Church/Fellowship Community where you can tap into support?

We are here to chat and help you navigate this.

No question is little or silly ((hugs))

  • Thank you so much, what a strong person you are. And I agree glad me and not one of my 5 kids or son n law.. and yes the evil in it all is the nose between my ears..I cant get it to stop sometimes.. at my PET scan now.. thank you for listening..

  • I am not naturally a strong person..... but as people of Faith I walk with a supernatural support behind me...... and so will you.

The more you talk, the more the noise WILL turn down so don't be chased into a corner...... keep unpacking as this will help you a lot.

There have been a good number of scriptures over my years that brought 'The Light' into the darkness.

    Have a look at Psalm 27: 1, 5, 13 and 14 and Micah 7:8 for a start.
