As a Christian I've found my cancer journey to be one of continuing to walk with God every day.  I rely on Him, and find joy even in this situation.  Has your faith been a help to you too?

  • Hi  and welcome again to our corner Wink

Most certainly the knowledge that we were not walking my 23 year journey on our own made a massive difference (you can see my journey through the link at the bottom of my post)

My journeys updates were called ‘The Joy of the Journey’ as our focus was always on looking for the joy rather than concentrating on the many challenges.

  • I just read your story.  Oh my, you have been in the wars.  It's wonderful that you're here, being a help to people.  I'll put you in my prayers. Slight smile

  • A word for today…… actually everyday Wink

Those who hope in the LORD
        will renew their strength.
    They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
    Isaiah 40:31 (NIVUK)

  • I've been praying for strength as it hasn't yet returned, and I'd hoped it would by now.  This is a timely encouragement.

  • We have far more strength than we actually realise, sometimes we just don't see it in us Wink

  • I know what you mean but I was actually thinking of the kind of energy that lets you walk a few yards without getting out of breath. Smiley

  • Lol, overcoming fatigue and the shortness of breath takes commitment and perseverance….. the less we do the longer the recovery.

Following my second Stem Cell Transplant I left hospital in a wheelchair so had to learn to walk again and my breathing was bad (made worse by my asbestosis) so it took a lot of perseverance, pain and some tough love on my wife’s side to push me through…… you will get there Thumbsup

  • I would not ever complain about my breast cancer (not that I would) now that I have read your encouraging cancer story. God is the one who sustains us all in these times and he certainly sustained you, Mike.  You are now the encouragement to others…just like Barnabas.

My encouragement is, Philippians 4:13…. can do all things through Christ who strengthen me, For God has not give me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind…. 2 Timothy1:7

    Blessings

  •   we are all required to put our heads down and battle into the storm but those of us on this corner of the community have a clear assurance. a fundamental hope that we are being supported from all sides……. safe in His arms
