My anxiety is through the roof brain just doesn’t want to process what is happening, getting no support from work, feeling totally lost. Just waiting for reality to kick in. Trying to stay strong but all sorts of things going round in my head.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be. I can see that you've posted in the breast cancer group and got lots of replies.

Waiting to start treatment can be a very anxious time but I found immersing myself in things that I enjoyed doing helped to take my mind off things. Lots of people find mindfulness really helpful and, if this is something you are interested in, clicking here will take you to the NHS page about it.

I'm sorry to read that your workplace isn't being supportive. Macmillan have lots of information on work and cancer, including what your rights are. If you haven't seen this yet clicking here will take you to it. They also have a work support team who are available on 0808 808 0000. It's free to call and they're available Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. They can also be accessed through the online community in the ask a work support adviser section.

It would be great if you could update your profile with details of your diagnosis and treatment so far as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
