    Hi All

Hospitals dont you just love then. Waited for 1 1/2 hrs to see the consultant. Then I was sent to give blood I was given my number like at the deli number 14 and they were only at no 2. I just told them I wasnt waiting and would get my gp to to take the blood. A very nice nurse took me away and took my blood. Tomorrow I will be starting monthly injections to shut down my overies. also I have to take a hormonal drug called Femera similar to arimadex and another pill called Zoradex to strengthen my bones. When I asked how long I had he said the longest patient alive lived for 5 years. Fingers crossed that will be me

Thinking of you all and Marian I hope everything went well for you today.

    Lots of love

    Hi everyone

Hope your'e all in good spirits. I had my first chemo yesterday, I was a bit porley when I got home very sick it was a bit like the scene out of The Exorcist!!!!! Don't know wether it was the cheom that caused it or the fact that I pigged out in the cafe inbetween apointments, then had a ltr of beriam meal and another drug pumpt into me for the CT scan in the afternoon. Still feel a bit queesy this morning, and im supposed to be having a bone scan at 9.45 think ill ring and make another apointment for that one just can't face it. Besides im still wating for my wig to come, begining to regret ordering it off the internet, im going to ring this afternoon to gee them up. I wouldn't recomend the net for one anyway.

Loraine my love, I sincerly hope you live a lot longer than that. I so wish I could give you a big hug xxxxx

I think it really hit home for my husband yesterday seeing the nurse pump the chemo into me, I heard him secretly talking to the dog and crying his heart out. He didn't come to bed untill 2.00am, I think he'd had a bit to drink too by the way he snored (right in my ear) he only ever snores when he's drunk. But he'll be back to normal when he gets up, as usual. Might go back to bed myself.

    Love you all

    HI Heather
Sorry you are feeling abit poorly after chemo the first is the worst as you are not sure what to expect so we all worry inside and put a brave face on.Hope you will feel better soon and the rest of your treatment wont be as bad is it the FEC-T you are having?
I have my last one today i have had 6 FEC-T the second part of the treatment ( i have to sit there sucking icepoles) whilst having the treatment TAXOTERE as it help to prevent mouth sores. I have been lucky and have not had to many side affects, i was aiso told by a chemo nurse to paint my nails with a pearly nail varnish to prevent them splitting i never seen my nail so long so this has work for me to.But there was no way of saving my hair, It is growing back i have a good covering already not enough to go without my wig as yet.
    Take Care Margaret

    Hi All

Lorraine you are so brave and I'm sure you will fight on forever. Thinking of you so much at the moment.

Heather, sorry your first chemo was a bit of a b. Hopefully it will be better next time.

Margaret, like you I was told to paint my finger nails. I often do them anyway. However they are so long and strong at the moment I have to keep filing them down. What's that all about?

    Chelle........hope you are ok.

The funny things that happen to you when you are having chemo.

I have no hair left anywhere on my body, but still finding hair in the bed and the shower room floor. I reckon Duncan is coming out in sympathy with me as there's only the 2 of us in the house. He also has a cold sore and ulcers in his mouth. He has never had these before in his whole life. So no kissing for us until that clears up. What a b I can't even have a kiss and a cuddle now to cheer me up when i need it!

Hope the weekend is a peaceful one for everyone. Remember to put your clocks foward tomorrow night. Summertime here we come! Let's hope we have a good one and that the sunshine puts smiles on our faces.

    As alway, take care everyone.

    Hi All

Heather not so good you being sick think your right maybe had to do with your stuffing your face!! Just make sure and take your anti sickness pills on time. Hope your feeling better today. The only good thing about the chemo is yur skin feels like a babys because of the lack of hair. Mine felt so soft but unfortunatley when the hair grows back in its back to the old shaving.

Going out with some friends tonight as I just want to be as normal as possible and not let this thing take over my life. Starting my hormone treatment today.and overey injections next week.

Hope everyone is ok Chelle havent heard from you and hoping everything is ok

    Lots of love Lorraine xxxxx

    Hi All

Well, the Marie Curie dance last Friday was great and we raised nearly £1900 which was absolutely fabulous. I felt really good on the night and danced more than I should have especially as I had my chemo the day before and needless to say, have paid the price this last week. Have been really washed out and bad with heartburn but have been on internet and done some research and have changed my diet which has really helped and I'm now feeling much better and more like my old self. I guess sometimes it's hard to accept that this illness takes such a toll on the body and that we can't always do the things that we used to do.

Jean - take it easy after your ops and take each day as it comes. Not easy sometimes I know.

Marmalade - read your posts and wish I had a wonderful sister like you to support me.

Chelle - sorry to hear you've been a bit down - hope the days seem a bit brighter now.

Lorraine - thinking of you - chin up.

Aslo can anybody tell me if I have to have herceptin injected or can it be taken in tablet form? They already have a problem finding a vein with the chemo so hoping they won't have to inject the herceptin drug. Answers on a postcard please!!

    Love Liz xx

    Hello ladies im back!!!

Sorry i've been in the chemo coma this last couple of days. The chemos ok for the first day and then it just knocks me out...i sleep day and night for about 3 days...nightmare!! Well im glad to be back now...still alittle heady but ok.

Liz i too shall have herceptin after chemo but i shall have both my chemo and herceptin through a portacath in my chest. I had mine fitted just before my chemo began and its great. I don't need to worry about anything, its there until i finish all my treatments now. Maybe you could ask about one yourself.
Congratulations with raising so much money...well done (worth being washed out for the week....hey)!!

Lorraine i hope the hormone tablets are going well and good luck for the injections next week. Please try and remain positive, as my mum says new treatments are being prepared all the time and who knows what treatments will be available to us all during the next 5 years. Hang in there. Hope you had a fab time last night.

Hi Andrea, hope you too have fun choosing wigs. I'm just getting used to mine lol!

Jean my husband has come out in mouth ulcers too!!! Trouble is he's pinching all my mouthcreams etc...but i'll need them again soon!!! And im with you on the hair front too!!! Thanks for reminding me about the clocks...im like sleeping beauty lol...and ive forgot what day it is let alone the clocks going forward!!

Heather im so sorry you have been sooo sick. No wonder your husbands worried...glad he's got the dog to talk too! My husband had alittle too much whisky last night also!! Husbands...What are they like?? and they say we are hard work and worry!!

Marmalade my dear, how are you? I really hope you're ok today. Its saturday night...get out there and pull!!! I agree with Liz, it would be great to have a fab sis like you, your sister must be very proud.

Margaret im gonna find the brightest nail varnish ive got and paint my nails. It'll help my nails grow and be bright and cheery! Wonder if i'll be allowed icepops with epi-cmf chemo???

Glad your all ok girlies...hold on tight it's a hell of a ride!!!
All my love and big hugs
    Chelle x x
