    Dear marmalade,

Your comments on this site are extremely valuable to us. You may not have personally had this disease but you have lived through it with your mum and sister, and i know it must be a constant cloud over you hoping that you never have to go through it yourself. Dont ever feel you arent entitled to post on here, because you most definitely are!! I for one draw strength from your messages and support and i wish you and your sister a cancer free future.

Thanks for your kind words, i realise that im gonna have some down days...I'll allow just a couple!!
Your big hug and support is coming right back at ya!

    Hello All

I may be repeating something already discussed elsewhere, but thought I would post this anyway.

I know this doesn’t apply to those of you who live in Scotland or Wales, as you already have free prescriptions.

However for those of us who live in England, as from April 1st cancer patients are entitled to free prescriptions, which includes prescriptions not related to cancer too.

You have to get a signed form from your GP or oncologist.

    Dear Jean,

Your arm will get better. I have 10 lymh nodes taken and it took a while to stretch my arm as normal but it is totally better now and I am driving. I think the arm took about two months to recover and I drove after six weeks. You do need to check your insurance as some dont insure you for so many weeks after surgery.
The arm stretching up the wall was the best exercise and I did it twice a day. I also tried removing coats from the coat hooks.

I found my first chemo very depressing as I thought I would be that ill for four months. I tend to be better after a week. I am very active and at first it was a huge shock. Now, I just come back from chemo, put my pjs on and don't get dressed for a week. I embrace being sick and dont push myself at all. This new attitude helps me a lot...bring on the box sets!!!

My hair fell out in clumps after chemo two. I used the cold cap and was very depressed as I thought I would loose it all. However, the hair loss has really slowed down. I have a cracking bald patch on top of my head but that is it and it can be disguised., I did cut my hair to my shoulder and let it go curly. Actually, people keepn saying how much nicer my new srtyle is....I wasn't expecting that!!!!

    Hi All,

Hope everyone is ok today or at least feeling as well as can be expected..

L.M.Maria, glad you are coping better with the chemo, your attitude sounds great and it's fab that you are getting compliments on your hair. My sis thinned on top & like you was able to disguise it.

Lorraine, glad you're feeling a little better and that you had a great Mothers Day. Hope the appointment goes well for you on Thursday.

My sis is off to see her plastic surgeon tonight. She was originally hoping to get new boobs for the summer (she will have the right one removed & reconstructed at the same time as the reconstruction for the left), so my fingers are crossed that it can be arranged for her soon. She also has an appointment to see her consultant on Wed, just a routine check up.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day!

    Love & best wishes..

    xx
