    Hi All

I am basically after some advice..I had a cancer "scare" earlier this year, I found a lump in my right breast, which turned out to be a cyst, but did find a "mass" in my left breat, I had a biopsy that want conclusive and had an operation to remove the mass. It was begnign. I have found another lump now near the scar from the operation, I went to the Dr's and she said "if you had noticed it a few months back I would agree with you that its just scar tissue, but with you only finding the lump in the past week I will send you for tests."

My question is "If they found nothing from my operation in March of this year, how likely is this now to be cancer or am I worrying about nothing???"

I am so scared at the moment, and I am sorry if I have joined when I shouldnt have (not being diagnosed as yet)

I wish you all the best and thank you

    Hi to everyone,
So many of you its hard to keep up! I've not been on for a little, but tried to keep up with all your posts. My arm is realy sore this week, tingly, numb, burning, just very weird! I'm starting to wish i was right handed, sure it will get better, doing my excercises daily its funny how i used to go gym 3/4 times a week for good work out and now simple little excercises are hard!? I spoke to my cancer care nurse today about support groups in my area ( thought it would be good to start meeting poeple in same position), i couldn't believe it when told we don't have one! I live in Gloucester, so its not some tiny village in middle of nowhere. All comes down to funds, shame really. Maybe i should start my own (half time i don't know what i on bout myself, so maybe not). I get my results on tuesday, keeping everything crossed (eyes included), I don't think it will make much difference to my treatment though, already told i'll have chemo and rad, but i guess i'll find out.
I'm still ringing that bell, it amuses me no end, my hubby obviously has no sense of humour, he hates the thing, ha ha. I have a cat called Gizmo (very large ears), even she comes to me when i ding dong, think she would like one?!
Right, its late, i'm tired, best get to bed. I hope you all have good weekend, and keep positive as always.
Big thanks to all for the support you've given, maybe soon i can give something back.
    Goodnight, big soft hugs,
    Caley xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Julie

Its difficult to say try not to worry when I know you will be but the history of your breast lumps always seem to have the same outcome. Please try not to think the worst as it wont change the situatation. Wait and see how things go and everything crossed it will be good news. If your having a panick just come here and there will be some reply to boost you or just help you through this.

Going to bed now at least to try and sleep.

    Hello everyone,
I've been reading quite a few posts since finding this wonderful support site...but I can not find any reference to the thing that is bugging me most at the moment. I'm starting to feel I should not be moaning about this...but I am! And it hurts!!!
I had a double mastectomy 2 weeks ago, and left hospital whithout drains in situ. The serous fluid buildup is AGONY, and my bc nurse makes me feel like a whinger for mentioning it. She has drained me twice now. A litre each time (in fact my non-existant boobs are bigger than my original ones)...and I can feel the needle going in. I was told that nobody feels the needle going in...but I do, and it hurts.
The fluid shows no sign of abating and I have to wait until Monday now for the next draining.

Is this normal? I would appreciate anyone who has experienced this to say it's quite normal, and yes it is a bitch.

Julie - your new lump is probably harmless, but it's better to get it checked out than to worry and worry about it I think. No point me telling you that the overwhelming number of breast lumps are harmless, you'll worry anyway (we all would!), so do get it checked.

Caley - keep up the exercises, the arm will get better but it will take longer than you think, so don't worry. Yours sounds completely normal following the op.

Lorraine - hope you got some sleep last night.

Maria - unusual to leave hospital with no drain at all, unless you were in there for awhile? Or perhaps all of your lymph nodes were left in place? Perhaps someone else here has some experience of this and can assist you (I left hospital with drain. This stayed in a week, and I didn't have any serious fluid build up once it was removed). If not however, you may wish to try the cancer helpline where you can talk to a nurse, who should have knowledge about this. The number is 0808 800 1234.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Maria - i left hospital with no drains - they let you have drain out if you draining a small amount of fluid by time leave - i had to be drained a week later and it felt great - though i too didnt feel it they drained boob where lumpectomy done and under armpit where nodes scar was - it filled up again soon after and does feel so uncomfy - more of a pain than op scars - but they wouldnt drain me again due to risk of infection and said the fluid will find its way - thats the idea the fluid needs to learn to find new ways of draining - and i could feel it trickling under my skin - dont worry a few weeks and it will be draining on its own its just getting used to it. hope this helps.

Lorraine have you stopped body poppin with the steroids yet :-) - Paula hope your high temp is not infection let us know when you have rang for advice - fingers crossed xxx

Maria- I had my mastectomy 2wks ago. I had op on the thurs and came home on sat'day with no drain in. I needed 2 have it drained the following week (as you i had new boob growing), i found it uncomfortable havin it drained but not painful. I now have fluid build up again, I went to hospital y'day and saw my cc nurse who wasn't keen to drain for risk of infection, she says the fluid will prob sort itself out, but i can have it checked again nxt wk. I've got up this mornin and it is feeling bit firmer, its uncomfortable but barable. I wish you luck and i'm sure it will sort it self out- Caley xxxx
