well done and glad you liked the cartoon! yes it is a fear of the nasties returning but please try not to live your life thinking about this...at least your oncologist was telling you how it is and not pussy footing around the subject when you asked! maybe one day when the medics say no spread they can really mean this by having given a full body scan (in depth) rather than just saying and giving false hope 'no lymph node involvement etc!!' .....dont worry about the rant - we all need one - daily xx

Chrystal Rant away all you want thats why were here.

Debbie I had chemo to reduce my tumor before they operated. The lump would get soft and occasionaly get hard again this doesnt mean that the treatment isnt working. The worst thing that can happen they will change the chemo so try not to worry.

Paula glad you had a great day with these 40 strapping lads!

Jean I hope your arm is feeling less sore today.

I had some bad news on Thursday when I went for my chemo. I have had 12 taxol out of 16 and my platelets are going down again. If they are down again next week they are talking about changing my chemo :( This means Ill start from scratch again and the new chemo I was hoping to keep for a later date. Fingers crossed my bloods will be ok and I can continue with the taxol.

Hope everyone is having a great bank holiday weekend weather in Glasgow raining again but I will get my waterproof on and get out for a walk.

    Lots of love Lorraine xxxxx

Morning all, hope your all enjoying bank holiday weekend? I'm feeling ok after my op but have slept so much, constantly tired, i'm sure part of it is being bored, not used to being at home alday! My mum came to the hospital with me on friday, she got quite upset. It was just a check up and have my dressing removed, also had to have it drained as some fluid there (thawt my boob growing back, ha ha), didn't hurt as numb anyway. My mum is worried now about me having chemo, i'm more worried about results from op, nothing so far has gone as i was hoping. When i first went to hosp they were convinced it wasn't cancer, but it was! Then they said prob be ok with lumpectomy, then said had to have mastectomy! Said my lymph nodes looked clear, but wen had op it wasn't , so had to remove more! so yes, i'm expecting the worst when i get results! Saying all that i feel ok in myself, just deal with things as they come along, worrying about my results will get me nowhere, just trying to get on as normal. My freinds and family keep saying i'm so calm (i do have off days believe me), i just say 'i've got it, wat can i do but beat this bloody awful disease'. I have to take what ever life throws at me and keep fighting, if i sink and give up then it wins, i hate losing!! Well, thats my little rant for today, good luck to anyone having treatment this week, my thoughts are with you, love and hugs, caley xxxxxxxxxx

Caley, keep staying positive, it really helps when going through this crap. My friends and family say the same about me being strong but it's amazing what us women can cope with when we have to. Here's hoping you receive some positive news soon, we are all here for you.
Chrystal I am confused, I think you may be posting on the wrong thread, if not ignore me, not quite with it these days lol

    Hi

Paula - I was confused too there. Your evening sounded fab. All those men!
Chyrstal, I think you're replying to someone from another thread??

Caley - Yes, I think most of us on here would say that waiting around for results absolutely sucks. You can't help but think the worst. Fingers crossed you get good news.

Lorraine - I'll keep everything crossed that your bloods improve and you don't have to start again on another regime, especially after 12 lots of Taxe.

Jean and Chelle - hope the effects of your last treatment is wearing off now.

Debbie - I think the breast is changing all the time with chemo. I know mine was, and Lorraine has more experience and says so too, so try not to worry too much. Maybe speak to your onc before your last treatment? Or you could phone the cancer helpline to speak to a nurse if thinking about it is driving you mad right now? The number is 0808 800 1234. I've used them once, and the nurse I spoke to was very good.

Love to everyone, hope the weather stays kind for the holiday.

    Kay xx

Hi ladies..just surfacing today after chemo (Taxotere & Cyclophosphamide) on Wednesday. Found it hard going this time. Feeling quite low. It's my mums birthday today (she would have been 61 but we lost her to lung cancer 5 years ago) Sometimes only a cuddle from your mum makes you feel better..what I wouldn't give for a cuddle right now! Sorry girls for being on a downer but I don't like to say to much to my family as I have to be strong for them. Love to you all

    Hi

Kay the weather in Glasgow is rain rain and more rain but I am still determined to get rapped up and get out for some fresh air. Hope your good and having a good bank holiday

Lesley I am sorry that your feeling low today but know wonder it being your mums birthday today. It is hard keeping strong for those round about you Dave my hubby gets mad when people ask how I am and my reply is always fine even though I sometimes feel terrible.

Paula hope you enjoy your camping tonight in the west wing!

Heather hope your ok as you havent posted in a while. Are you finished the chemo yet?

Well just dragging hubby out in the rain, might get a train into town for a wander and maybe something to eat if I can eat. This is one of the worst side effects of the chemo I hate is I am never hungry. Like to have snacks instead of a large meal.

Chelle and Jean How are you both now the chemos finished. No more horrible mouth. My mouth feels like ive been on a binge drinking session bad taste and sore all the time Roll on my chemo finishing and all of us here still on it.

Caley Hows that bell working? Hope your scar is healing and your not having to have it drained often. Try not to over do things as this can cause fluid to build up.

Hope you all having a great day.

    take care love

    Afternoon Girlies

Apart from my yucky mouth, I'm feeling not too bad today. My arm is not aching as much as it did. Slept most of Saturday during the afternoon and then all night long. Felt better yesterday for it.

Chelle I hope they don't pull and push you too much tomorrow. The tattoos are tiny! Just like a pin head and it didn't hurt at all. Hope the yucky mouth goes soon and that you have a great day at the beach today. The weather is miserable here today. Typical bank holiday! You southerners are so lucky getting the best of the weather!

Kay I hope you are still keeping ok and that the rash has disappeared.

Paula, you really are a party animal! I reckon you'll sleep for a week after all your activities. Hope the camping is a huge success tonight. Have a burger and a sausage for me.

Sue, I bet you will have a really good time with your brother and his girl friend. Such a shame you can't have some time off, but at least you have lovely evenings there in Cyprus to get out and about. When are you coming to the UK for your consultation?

Lorraine I hope you don't have to have a different chemo. Fingers crossed that your platelets are on the up before Thursday.

Caley waiting on the results of ops etc is the worst part I think. Just try to stay positive and let us know how you get on.

Lesley so sorry to hear you are having a down day. You know you can come on here and say exactly how you feel as we all understand, only too well what you are going through.

    STEF>>>>>>>>>>>WHERE ARE YOU????????

    Love to everyone

    Jean xx

    Hi, Me Again!

Those of you who have had radiotherapy, can you tell me if the tiredness affects you after the treatment is finished. If it goes on afterwards, how long does it last? By the way I am having 15 zaps!

Just trying to make some plans for later in the year!

    Love Jean xx
