Lailla haha i got everyone talking about fish fingers now - My bruises are ok - trevor stayed behind the bike when got on the bankings quite cautious but just followed me. Was trying to teach him to flush birds out of long grass today as thats what he supposed to do as a breed haha he followed me as 4 grouse type birds flew out of grass - i think im better at it than him - love spending time on my own with him in fields messing about, its quality time definitely :-)

Kay they are good on butties with lettuce and tartare sauce - like filet o fish from mc donalds. :-)

Caley welcome :-) good luck for Thursday - you'll be fine im sure - be strong and hope to see you back online letting us know how you doing. x

Having chemo tomorrow and going with my brother (my little brother - hes 7yrs younger than me and about a foot taller than me) i will treat him to a full english at hospital before chemo as wont taste tea or eat it tomorrow night. My daughters waiting home for me and minding trev so hope im not delayed ages like last time. Fed up as not got all things done before chemo - plasterers left mess at front of house and not cleared that up - got stacks of ironing and hannahs going to be moaning about walking dog for me and bored cos not going out whilst knackered from chemo - oh well its tuff isnt it - haha - it feels empowering sometimes to not give a poop about what was before so important :-)

Best wishes to all xxxxxxx stef

    Hi,

Just painting my finger- and toe nails black cherry colour for tomorrow's chemo. Nearly forgot!!

Caley - good luck for Thursday - you'll be fine!

Jean & Steph - chemo here we come.... lol. Have not been too bad on the 8 steroid tablets today - bit tired, head gone into a very slow gear, bit of hunger pangs starting, but apart from that - good.

    Fish wok for tomorrow's dinner.

    Love to everybody,

    Laila xxx

Hi everyone, new to this so hope it works. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last December after routine mammogram. My feet hardly touched the ground for the next few weeks and my darling sisters ferried me to all my appointments. I had 6 fec which was gruesome i'm afraid, then op and starting radiotherapy in Sept'. I never really thought I would get cancer ( do any of us? ) but I am doing well and treatment is working. My 3 sons have been great as have the rest of my family and friends. I'm very lucky! However I now feel ready to speak to others in the same boat. I suppose we all cope in our own way! love Karen

    Hi everyone

Just been to Look Good, Feel Better session today.. got some good tips. Now know why i have baggy eyes....should have been placing pads with make up remover over eyes to dissolve mascara BUT have been rubbing them vigorously instead for over 30 years. Not good!! Also received a bag of top class freebies and had good crack with some of the other girls there. Well worth a visit if you get chance ladies.

Jo- eyelashes started to thin about 2 weeks after first chemo but haven't all fallen out.

Good luck Caley with upcoming op and chin up everyone on chemo week.

    Take care

    Hi ladies and gents,

Sorry I haven’t been around for a few days but I’ve either been out and about cramming loads of lovely trips out and having friends over for my 6 year old or every time I’ve gone to use the computer someone else has been hogging it!!

Blossom I’m so sorry to hear your news but you sound like you’re very strong and will get through it, big hugs x

Chrissie you are going through such a tough time and I’m really sorry. Try to keep positive you can get through this. Like the others have said treatments are excellent these days and it's great news that it hasn’t spread to your organs. New York sounds just the ticket at this time. My very best wishes, loads of love and hugs to you x

Sue what a nightmare for you. At least you know where you stand with needing your surgery redone. Good luck for today with the ct scan and again for Monday. My thoughts are with you and much love and big hugs to you too x

Karen welcome to our website. It sounds like you’re through the worse of it..phew!! You’ve come to the right place to talk. You’ll find lots of support and advice on here x

Laila what a worry last weekend must of been. Try and take it easy and big hugs for you too. What a bummer about the DLA, i think it's an excellent idea to appeal because Chrissie didn't get it the first time round and Kev said we must re appeal if it gets rejected at first. I'll keep my fingers crossed for better news next time. Good luck for chemo today x

Jo hope your form filling went well my fingers are crossed you get everything. It’s great you can go on the look good session in September it’s something to look forward to. I had a lump appear a few weeks after my lumpectomy under my scar and they told me not to worry and it’s scar tissue so I’m hoping like you’ve said it was muscle knitting back together because my lumps almost disappeared now since starting chemo!!

Jean the DLA sounds promising. Apart from a letter saying they’ve received my application I haven’t heard anything yet. Glad you’ve been having a lovely time with family and friends and I’m sure Duncan had an excellent birthday. Good luck for today..The final countdown yippeeee!!

Paula hope that ONE stitch is holding!! How come I’ve got women oncologist’s etc dealing with me and no hunky men?!! Lol

Stef sorry it rained on your weekend away but it sounds like you had a fab time anyway. Mines agreed for a weekend in Edinburgh but I’m waiting to arrange the finer details until after chemo and rads. Hope your bruises are much better. Oh and I like fish fingers and ketchup sandwiches!! Hope your chemo goes smoothly for you today x

Kay I just love a fancy dress party and I always go to town with my outfit too. Can’t wait to see the photo.

Jenney I had a prickly head!! It seemed to happen when I went either hot or cold!! Yes the chemo can make you unbearably tired. Hope you’re feeling well x

Kimita congratulations with your good news what a relief. Hope the op went well x

Wendy hope you got that date x

Caley You’re break sounds lovely. Glad you’ve been pampered. Good luck for Thursday x

Lorraine glad you had such a brilliant time in France worth every penny..or should that be Euro!!

Lesley I hope you enjoyed a full weekend. That’s just what I’ve been doing making the most of my good days. The look good session sounds brill and thanks for the tip about not rubbing the mascara off like i do too!

Sam your chemo sounds nasty but your prof sounds yummy :-D

Grace what a worrying time for you and your family, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I can’t answer your questions like the doctors could, but some ladies on here have chemo before surgery while others have surgery then chemo. The doctors do tend to change their minds about treatment early on with diagnoses depending on biopsies, scans etc. Try not to worry they will arrange the best treatment that’s right for your mum. Big hugs and keep smiling x

Zion I’m really sorry to hear about your sister-in –law. Sometimes it’s harder for those around us dealing with it all. I hope you get things sorted. Big hugs and best wishes x

Ricklast thankyou for that info x

Sorry it's been an essay this one!! Love to all
    Chelle x

    Afternnon Ladies

Laila, many thanks for the excercise sheets. Did them yesterday for the first time and will keep them up, except for today. Oh girlies, I had such a bad time during the night. I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me, I've been up and down since 3 am with sickenss and diarrhoea. Finally stopped abour 6 am. I feel absolutely knackered and so tired. I got up about 8 and had a cup of tea then fell back to sleep for an hour or so. I ate some scrambled egg about 11 and that has stayed down, also had lots of water, so I reckon it has passed over. What a time to get this as I have chemo today at 2 pm. I'm not telling the nurses in case they cancel it. I just couldn't bear it if they did as I am so near to the end. Just have this one today and the last one next Wednesday. I really couldn't cope if they postponed it. So wish me luck that this chemo goes as well as all the others and my knackered body doesn't react to it.

Stef, what are you and Trev like? You should have a sign round your neck saying "Danger, mad woman and pup on the loose!" Hope the bruises are better. Just love the fish finger chat that has followed. The new pic looks great!

Caley will be thinking of you tomorrow. Lots of good advice there from Kay.

Welcome, Grace and Karen to our little group. Well, not so little now! We seem to be growing again! I know you will get the help and support you need here.

Well chemo for Chelle Yesterday and today it's Laila, Paula, Stef and me. Lorraine is yours today or tomorrow, I've forgotten, sorry. Chemo brain kicks in again.

Love to you all especially those having ops/treatment this week.

    Jean xx

Hi everyone! Its gonna take me a while to get to grips with where you all are on this rollercoaster but i'll keep at it. Is anyone on arimidex? I've been on it for a few days and feeling more tired. Maybe it's just the heat. Me and Henry ( my little westie ) are both sprawled on the sofa at the min.Still i'm gonna be hotter next week 'cos i'm off to Crete with 2 sisters. Yippeeeee!! Start radiotherapy and herceptin when I come back. Lots of love Karen xx

Hi everyone - welcome to Karen and Grace - sorry for your sakes you have to be here but you've found a new family :-)
Caley - thinking and praying for you tomorrow that everything will go really smoothly.
Laila, Stef, Paula, Lorraine - hope your hospital visits for chemo went well - especially, Jean, that you were able to get away with your secret!
I've been a bit down lately but I have been reading your posts - perhaps I'd better start on the fish finger diet!
    lots of love, Wendy xxx
