    Hi All,

Liz, wow..congratulations on the money raised! Good for you for having a good old dance, but sorry you paid for it later.. Glad you're feeling a bit better now that you've made some changes to your diet! My sister had her herceptin injected and like you, also has problems with finding a vein, infact she always tells them where they can find one. I know it has really frustrated her when they go where they think anyway & prod & poke her with no result. Hope it all goes ok for you!

Chelle, glad you're feeling a bit better! Great pic by the way..hope the wig's behaving itself..have you named it yet? I like Jean's suggestion of Winnie.. :-) Not on the pull tonight..round at sis's. She's cooked a chicken korma (copying you Heather)..meat for them, veggie for me & I'm sure we'll open a bottle of wine or two.

Hi Gilly, glad you got through your treatment and hope you're feeling ok on the Tamoxifen. My sis is on it , she started taking it a couple of months or so ago. She has some major hot flushes, but no other side effects..she was worried about weight gain. When she went to see her consultant last week for her check up, first thing he said when she walked through the door was that she had put on weight. Cue, indignant sis, but he actually meant that she was looking really healthy after the weight she lost during her chemo last year. :-)

Heather, glad Elvis finally arrived & is in the building..hope you get on ok with him! Best not leave him lying around with Barney Boo on the loose! :-) Hope you enjoy your Korma aswell tonight & hope it does the trick! Hope hubby is coping ok..

Lorraine, hope you're feeling ok.. Hope you're treatments go ok for your next week! Did you keep the sun today? If you did, hope you managed to go for another nice stroll!

Jean, hope you're still buzzing! If you feel the need to carry on cleaning, you're more than welcome to come round! Nice to hear that your bruv is coming to see you. Hope him & Wilma will get on!

Well, sitting in sis's kitchen typing this, so best go & help her with the side dishes..

Apologies if I missed anyone.. Hope you all have a good Saturday evening!

    Take care all..

    xx

    Hi Gill

I'm really sorry to hear that you are having a tough time, but also glad to hear that you have family around you to support you.

It is difficult at times to talk to the family only about what we are going through, so this site is great because we all know exactly how we feel. Good days, bad days and we can say what we like here to each other as we all understand the same feelings.

I know that I put a brave face on most of the time as I don't want them worrying about me, although I know they do.

What I also know now, after the week or so I have been here, is that, should I need to, I can say exactly how and what I feel to my friends here and know that they will understand. We are all in a similar position.

So if you want to have a good moan or a chinwag or crack a joke with us, we are all here for each other.

Take care of yourself and keep posting!!

    Best wishes
    Jean

    Good morning ladys

Gill im in the same kind of situation as you where money is concerned, I just can not possibly manage if I didn't go to work, my employers are very suportive and have said that I can have as much time as I need off but when I asked if thay were going to pay my wages while I was, and the answer was no then I said 'well I'll be coming to work then' because £73 a week sick pay will not pay the rent, the council tax, the gas and electric and every thing eles that comes in. But there again I suppose I could starve my self!!! Ive tried to get benifits but unless I do go on sick Im not entitled to any thing. But Im the kind of person, if I feel ok then I'll go to work. I can't just sit at home, i'd go insane.

Anyway thats my little moan out the way.

My two work friends came for their lunch yesterday, I made them some bacon and egg butties while thay tried on Elvis it looked better on them than it does on me. what a B*****!!!!! Ive thought about putting it on my husbands head while he's asleep and take some photos but he's quite a light sleeper so there wouldnt be any fun in that (I think i'm feeling a little misschevous today) BAD GIRL!!!

Hope everyone is feeling good this cold but sunny Sunday morning

    Speak to you all soon.

    Hi all
Hope you all had a well as expected weekend , I had my last chemo on friday and my pick line taken out got my other arm back after 20 weeks lol. Reading the post people talking about lovely curries & bacon butties (yum yum).
The cancer i had was estrogen feed (ER-positive) I have done some research into food and was surpised what food make estrogen and food that block estrogen. I am 52 and up until my 4th chemo I was still have my monthly cycle which didn’t help matters plus being over weight body fat make estrogen so all of this could have been the cause of my cancer. I will be going on tamoxifen for 2 years to hopefully block it . Has anyone else look into this or found any good sites?
    Take care Margaret xx

Hi Margaret fantastic news youve done your last chemo Thats a great feeling. I am also er+ and have been taking tamoxifen for 2 years. Because the cancer has come back they have stopped me taking it. I am having my overies shut down by injection and am taking an different hormonal tablet. I am seeking advice as to whats good to eat if your er +. When I was going through my treatment I wanted them to shut down my overies but they said it was to drastic. Surely it would have helped stop the cancer returning as it would stop me producing eastrogen. Know point looking back but sometimes I just wonder.

Going out for a bit might catch up with someone here later.

    Love Lorraine

    Hello Ladies

Well my buzzing around has stopped! I've joined Chelle is the Chemo Coma Club!.

Had my dinner last night and fell asleep for 2 hours. Had a Cuppa and then wend to bed at 10.30 and slept till 7 this morning. Got up, washed dressed, ate breakfast and then fell asleep again. Had a coffee and then fell asleep again. What a bummer!

Also my arm, breast and back are swollen and aching. Phoned the Chemo unit and this is yet another side effect of the EPI. Got to see the GP this afternoon to let him have a look and see what he says.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

    Thinking of you all.

    Jean
