Hello my name is Heather I have just been diagnosed with brest cancer last week for the first time (and last I hope) Both my sisters have had cancer, one died seven month ago Im a bit scared of what to expect with the chemo. Can anyone tell me how soon after the treatment do you start to feel ill? How soon do you lose your hair?

    Evening All

You sound in great spirits, Paula. Keep it up girl!

Chelle, do you start your radiotherapy next week?

Laila, I've only had 4 zaps of radio so far. Early days yet. I feel a bit tired, but I don't know if that is the radio or the lasting effects of the chemo or a combination of both. The only advice I can give you at the moment is to apply the aqueous cream about an hour before your radiotherapy. Make sure it is rubbed in well.

Wendy do you have your op this Tuesday?

Quite a few of us are still missing! Caley, Jenney, Lesley, Lorraine, Margaret, Sam, Stef, Karen and Wendy, to name those I can remember

The missing posts are annoying as we have lost quite a bit of relevant information there.

Look forward to hearing how you all are.

    Lots of love Jean xx

Hi all hope everyone is doing well!!!   I started my chemo (FEC) 2.1/2 weeks ago and yesterday my hair started to fall out, but strange thing is my head hurts like the day after you banged it.  Is this my imagination or has anyone else had this? At the moment the anti sickness tablets worked and I have had no other side effects so doing ok!!!  My thoughts are with you all although I do not write on here often I do try and read all posts.

    Hi Cheryl

You're up early, but good to hear from you. Sorry about your hair, but hey ho. It'll grow back eventually. I think most of us just shaved it off when ours started to come out. Much less messy, and at least you get it over and done with. My head didn't hurt at all when my hair came out, maybe someone else here has experienced that and can help.

I hope your symtoms continue to be mild.

    Kay

    Hi Cheryl

My head really hurt as my hair started to fall out, It,s because it pulls at the roots apparantly. I had mine shaved off as soon as it started to fall outl. That did'nt hurt at all and was quite a relief really

All the best to everyone. Does anyone find when you click onto next page you go onto a different chat site with different people - or am I doing something weird !!

    love

    Hi All

Hope everyone is doing ok today or as well as can be!!

I have to say, I do like this new site.. Once you get used to it, it is just as easy to use as the old one & looks a lot nicer (I'm ducking as I write this because I know I might be in the minority here).. :-)

Well, sis has finally got her op date (yay).. It will be on Monday 2nd Nov in Brentwood. It's about an hour & a half or so from here, so I'll get there as much as I can whilst she is in. Her surgeon is now saying it may be as little as a week that she will be in, instead of the original two he forecast (not sure why he's changed his mind), so that will be great for her if that happens.

We're off to Chelmsford on Tuesday afternoon for a couple of pre-op appointments for sis, then we have the support group meeting in the evening. Will let you know how we get on.

Chelle, Jean & every single one of you on here (the list is so long now, my poor old brain can't cope).. Hope you have a very pleasant Sunday and feel as well and as happy as you can!!

    Love to you all..

    xx

Hi all hope eeryone is ok!

Things are good Paula thnx, trying to get used to the new site!! Mam had her lumpectomy on tues, and is already off her painkillers and virtually has full movement back in her arm after they took out he sentinel node, which is fab. You wouldnt know shed had the op, but when she shakes her boob you can hear sloshing water, and i find it very disturbing (she thinks its hilarious!!!!!!!!!!)

We should find out on wed(ish) if her node and surrounding tissue are clear, so fingers crossed!!

Sometimes a kick up the bum is all we need to spur us on, and keeping busy takes your mind oif things too i find, your doing fab though!!

    Spk sn xx
