Hi I am new to this site. I was told I had endometrial cancer on 15 Jan 3009 and had hysterectomy 2 weeks later. 2 days before op due consultant told me scan had showed it had spread to muscle wall and would I like to cancel op and go to a specialised hospital. Such a shock but I said definitely no and went ahead. Did not really have time to think very much, too concerned putting arrangements at home into place quickly. It was four weeks on Friday since op and I am feeling stronger every day. Hope to go back to work early April, When I found this site I really felt I wanted to join and share my experiences.

    Hi Oxlade

Sorry to hear about your illness, but glad to hear your major surgery is over and you are getting stronger. Have you considered filling in your profile and opening it to view? It will help others respond and will also save you keep repeating yourself, if people can have a look at it.

Have the docs got any further treatment planned for you once you have got over the surgery? Only asking that because you said muscle wall was involved.

Hope you have a good look around the site, and find friendship and support. If you want to search for others with similar circumstances, go to Tags and search for Womb, Uterus or Endometrial and you should find relevant posts.

    All the best

    Hello Erin64
I'm sorry you need to be here but welcome to Share. If you put a few details on your profile it will make it easier for people to help you - you don't mention what type of cancer you have so it is difficult to point you in the right direction. If you use the "Tags" facility on the left of the page you will be able to find threads that cover most types so I would suggest you try that and you should be able to get support and advice about side effects.
Best wishes to you and I hope you find the help you need.

Hi everyone. In the last month I have had endoscopsies, biopsies and scans. I was told cancer is gone completely. No cancer cells, no tumour! I have to go for scancs every three months for the next three years. Small price. I'm so thankfull to everyone on this site who has given me words of incouragment. I think it will take me some time to mend emotionally but I will take it one day at a time. Life is good! xx

Its great news Chelle, I am really happy for you. I know you say the experience has changed you, but I am sure that eventually, when the anger has settled it will be positive changes. You may have been a caring person before, but now you are bound to have more empathy with people. All the very best for the future. Take nothing for granted, appreciate life and value it, and find out the best way to use this precious gift -Life.
