Hi everyone
Joan, Izzy & Gayle, I hope things are better for all of you.
Mum and I met the consultant yesterday and he has recommended a six week course of RT. Unfortunately things have gone totally pear shaped today. I couldn’t contact Mum so went over to see her. I found her lying in the middle of the floor. She had been sick and was barely conscious. Called the ambulance and she is in hospital as I type. They though that she might have had a bleed but after a scan they decided that it was a massve amount of swelling. They’ve given her Dex intravenously and she seemed more settled. I don’t know what I’ll find tomorrow.
Take care all of you.
Karen
Hi folks,
Izzy, sorry to hear your hubby is in hospital, thinking of you both - keep us posted to how he is.
Gayle, hope your all ok? - Dr Rooney was down at my mums on Wednesday - they thought he was lovely - my dad found it quite therapuetic to talk so honestly about things - I think he talked about how he felt about death etc amongst lots of other things that he possibly hasnt talked about before . I wasnt there but I told my mum to mention your and Martins name, but of course she forgot the names but said to him she though you were from Glasgow!
Emma, excellent news about the trial.
jampix - just seen your post as im typing and wanted to let you know that after diagnosis and before RT started, my dad suffered a similar episode - I went down to the house and he was lying on the floor with vomit everywhere, just groaning as his head was so sore - it was awful to witness and because we were new to all this I thought this was how it was going to be from now on - oh it was horrible, anyway, they said it was the swelling and gave intravenous dex and he was sorted out within a couple of days - fingers crossed for you and your mum.
Joan, Carrie and everyone else, wishing you all a peaceful weekend.
Becca - if your reading this, hope all is ok with your dad - will pm you shortly.
Just a quick hello before I retire to watch midsommer murders, have had one glass of wine and really cant be bothered with anymore so now having some coke!
lesley xx
Carrie - Thanks for your post. I hope that B’s having good days and that you can both make the best of them. Who knows when things might happen?
Charliebigarve – so sorry you find yourself here. I’m relatively new as my mum was diagnosed on the 29 Jan 09. I’ve found that they’re a good source of support on here. It’s helped me in such a short time.
Lesley – Thank you so much for the postive post. It’s frigthening when it happens as nobody prepares you for it. I’d almost convinced myself that she wasn’t going to be there tomorrow. The hospital had even got to the point of asking the dreaded resusitation question. I’ll get those positvie thoughts going again. This is why I find this discussion so helpful. I hope everything is OK with your dad.
Take care all of you.
Karen
