    Oh Izzy!
    never say never!

Perhaps try whiskey with diet coke, or even some wine - it seems these days that before I know it I have had a whole bottle of wine - not good for me but great for relaxing me and keeping me going which is what counts at the moment!

Look on the positive you both had a better nights sleep!

It is quiet on here - I have posted acouple of we talk...

Hope you have a log fire roaring I am freezing!

Anyway of to finish the bottle now!

love to you all - keep strong

    Hi girls,

Oh Izzy - I really shouldnt laught (but I did) - my mantra is "IM never drinking again!" - I am a lethal red wine drinker (in fact may have a wee glass just now!) but sometimes i dont know when to stop and I get the WORST hangovers ever - maybe its my age, im 36 now and my hangovers last for days! Hopefully your better now...'as long as it was good at the time...thats ALL that matters! Loved the accent too - can just hear that aberdonian twang!

Emma - I noticed you were at Euro Disney just latley - glad you all had a great time - although sounded freezing! Did you go by Eurostar? We had all thought of going at somepoint but if my dad carries on like this, it looks unlikely we'll be getting to take him anywhere.

    Hi Ravi

Am new to this site I cannot sometimes bear to look at it, so much pain and angtuish.

Anyway my Husband was so fit and strong, started getting headaches in 2006 and then in October 2006 was violently sick. We went to casualty on the Sunday on Monday we were transferred to Southampton Neurological Centre he was operated on at midnight to drain a cyst and a week later had the debaulk. Started Radiotherapy in January 2007 and in September had to have another debaulk. This last op changed his character so much. He then had 8 months of chemo seemed to be responding well but then unfortunately started getting headaches etc. again - he passed away on 1st August 2008. From what you have written it seems to be identical to all that I and my two daughters and son in laws have been through. There is nothing I can say that will help you but you are in my prayers. I still cannot sleep nor eat properly, some mornings I wake up and think what is the point. I nearly always cry myself to sleep. Until you have had something like this happen to you you can't understand it, how it not only affects the patient but also those that are with them 24/7.

You keep strong and God Bless you all - miracles do happen and I pray this will be the case for you.

    Hi everyone

Izzy you sound just like me about 3 weeks ago, like Emma and Lesley my downfall is wine and I dont when to stop but I get the hangovers from hell recently I just tried cheeky vimtos a friend told me about them they are lovely and no hangovers either I will stick to them in future I think. Your log fire sounds like bliss, open fire brings back so many childhood memories.
Lesley how is your dad it sounds like he 's been through the mill recently hope he gets better soon. Martin has been really sleepy again all week he just finished round 4 of tmz so hopefully he will perk up in a few days, off to watch tv for an hour just had a really lazy day today bliss.

    Hi

    Becca
I hope you have seen the other thread we talk.... Martyn has posted a reply to you on there. I havent experience of this so sorry can help here.

Izzy sorry you still feel rough - would love to know what Gayle drinks too! I'm on the wine again kids driving me mad - hubbie cant cope with their back chat and rudeness anymore so its all down to me and as soon as they in bed try as I might i have to open a bottle or go get one!

Lesley - I thought we would never get there either but with the hospitals approval we went for it - and it was fantastic soooo many memories for us all - we took both our mums too as the responsibility was just too much for me on my own with the kids - the hotel was amazing - i called before we went and managed to get upgraded - I would suggest doing it as long as he is strong enough - they sent a car to pick us up from train station even though its a 2 min walk and the eurostar leisure select was really comfortable he slept most of the way! We didnt bother with insurance for him (no way would they give it to us) everyone else had it just incase we had to cancel we would only loose his fares. The hosp upped his dex before we went to ensure we didnt have a problem.

Carole - stay strong and keep posting - it helps all of us

Gayle - I hope your day was good and not too stressful??

Nothing new to post on our side - back at hosp weds to decide on trials - the side effects are scarey but int he scheme of things what have we to loose?

anyway of to dish up dinner and oh perhaps another glass of wine!

    take care and stay strong

    Hi

Becca unfortunetly cancer patients are prone to getting blood clots, during the radio/chemo treatment when Martins steriods were high his legs were badly swollen, our gp sent us to a blood clot clinic at x house where we had to go back and forth for a week for tests for a suspected clot, fortunately in our case there was no clot sorry thats all that I know.

Izzy sorry to hear that you are still unwell, cheeky vimtos are port mixed with blue wkd it sound strange but it is very nice, just tastes like vimto and they dont give me a hangover at all.

Emma what kind of side effects were they talkiing about with these new drugs, do you think that you will give it a go, I know the trials with similar drugs in the states have went very well.
Lesley,Carol,CH,Joan and everyone else hope that you are all well.

    love Gayle xx
