Becca, I am so sorry to hear your news. I have been thinking about you lots over the last few days - since you mentioned that your dad had the syringe driver. So although I am sad for you that he has passed away, I am so relieved that this period of suffering for you is all over. You are right, he is no longer in pain or suffering and is the man he once was. Take care and God Bless.

Lorraine - you take care too.

So sad to read of the loss of your dear Dad. Hope you can take comfort from knowing that at the end, it was peaceful and that he was with the family he loved and who loved him so much. Thinking of you all.

Dear Becca, so sorry to read your news of your dad. You have all been through so much, but you are right, he's at peace now. Try to remember all the good times you had, they will sustain you. You have been fantastic all the way through this, keep strong, you'll be there for your mum as she will be for you now. Please pass on my condolences to your mum and Fraser, and your sister.

    love, diane

I thought I'd share the conversation that I've just had with my 4 year old on the way home from walking her big sister to school. It came completely out of the blue.

Freya: Granny's going to die soon isn't she, 'cos she's old and got a poorly head
Me: Yes, I'm afraid she is
Freya: Mummy, why are you crying?
Freya: But Mummy everyone dies when they get old, and Granny is already old. You're going to die when you're old and I'm going to die when I'm old.

And off she scootered on her scooter!!

Life is that simple isn't it really. Wouldn't it be so much easier if we could accept that as adults, just like children do.
