Well here i am again at 4.30 in the morning and i can't sleep yet again!! My husband Darryl has terminal small cell cancer and, at the moment is going through a really good phase. Which, i would have thought, would set my mind at rest and enable me to sleep. But no, here i am again having had 2 hrs sleep tonight wide awake with mad thoughts running around my head!! This is driving me crazy and i just seem to be on auto pilot all the time. Darryl is 44 years old and we have been given a prognosis of a 2-3 year life span for him. I can't seem to let go of this thought, and maybe part of me can't sleep because of that, as i feel if i'm asleep i'm wasteing precious time!! Darryl is sound asleep and resting well, and if i stay upstairs next to him listening to his breathing, i keep thinking is this the last time i'll ever hear that and end up getting so uptight and worried that i find it better to just get up again. So i wander round the house do a few chores, have a hot caffiene free drink and will myself to sleep all to no avail i might add!! hahaha surely i'm not the only carer who never sleeps, or am i????? any comments gratefully recieved. Take care my friends and hope your all sleeping well. love and hugs mel xxx

I think I might stop polishing me 'elmet and get the moped out !

Mind you, it's a bit dangerous on Bank Holidays with all the 'amateur' drivers about. Much better when kids are off school but parents are at work.

I was seriously thinking about getting a bike and resurrecting my passion for two wheels. I had a go on a 150cc yamaha and scared myself to death. No way did the bikes in my day have such wicked acceleration. I think I will stay with my memories. Too much to re-learn for my old physique. And what pray is a crash helmet? They were never compulsory in my day!

The good old days Charles !!! I had a BSA Bantam 150, then an Ariel Arrow 200 then a Bonneville 650. No bike then for 30 years until the son got his ticket then I thought.......mmmm....

I told Irene and she said OK have your mid-life crisis !" . I said that I could either chase young girls or get a 'bike. She said "you'll have more joy with the bike !". She said "whatever you chose, you're going to hurt yourself so don't complain to me when you do"

She loved the bikes but never wanted to go on one.

As you say, the smallest of bikes these days can wheelie, I really have to be careful on the TDM as that will have it's front wheel up with very little effort.

You know, it's daft what beer does for you. I've had a couple of halves (Pinochio nose>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>) but was tempted to get the bike out NOW and go for a blast.

Don't worry, I WON'T, but just for a second it seemed a good idea !

Foggy...behave yourself ole pinocchio nose>>>>>> no going out on motorbikes when you've had a few beers..you hear me, besides you promised MHM that you'd keep foxes out of the hen house and you can't do that if you're out gallivanting on your TDM can you?? I'll send you down some of the rain we've got here..that will stop you going out, have another beer and then some shut eye (sounded a bit bossy there didn't I? but I'm telling you ok?) ;-) xxxx
