Well here i am again at 4.30 in the morning and i can't sleep yet again!! My husband Darryl has terminal small cell cancer and, at the moment is going through a really good phase. Which, i would have thought, would set my mind at rest and enable me to sleep. But no, here i am again having had 2 hrs sleep tonight wide awake with mad thoughts running around my head!! This is driving me crazy and i just seem to be on auto pilot all the time. Darryl is 44 years old and we have been given a prognosis of a 2-3 year life span for him. I can't seem to let go of this thought, and maybe part of me can't sleep because of that, as i feel if i'm asleep i'm wasteing precious time!! Darryl is sound asleep and resting well, and if i stay upstairs next to him listening to his breathing, i keep thinking is this the last time i'll ever hear that and end up getting so uptight and worried that i find it better to just get up again. So i wander round the house do a few chores, have a hot caffiene free drink and will myself to sleep all to no avail i might add!! hahaha surely i'm not the only carer who never sleeps, or am i????? any comments gratefully recieved. How you feeling today and how is Daryll feeling? Better I hope, sorry to hear that your teeth are still no better and stopped you sleeping last night (bloody things!!) Glad you have an apointment for Daryll on Tuesday though I can see his reluctance being the bank holiday at not wanting to be kept in hospital, Michaela panics everytime we go to our local incase they keep her in like last time, am keeping a close eye on her as she has a nasty cough and a few other probs have reared tonight but not too worried besides we are back at UCH on Monday for day 15 of chemo..if all is well we are going back to Camden beforehand as Michaela wants to go shopping again, girls and shopping!! lol. Hope Daley and Kirsty are ok and her laryngitus is getter better Lots of love and ((((hugs)))) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Did she enjoy her birthday, sounds like you got the bum deal with the p being taken out of you..I know how that feels hun as me and my sister are like chalk and cheese though love her to bits, but I mainly get it from my uncle (one of Dad's brothers) at every opportunity lol!! No matter what we order there are always surprises in our collection as something changes, mostly for the good. We had Sesame chicken (wow), beef with ginger as Richard still seems to need the sharper tastes (I'm ok with that lol), crispy duck and Gems fav mushroom chowmein! Extra surprise was Thai salad another wow! pineapple, cucumber, onion and chilli!
Hello, Juls and Teresa, we had sausage and mash with baked beans and cauliflower.....tasty and quick, as the bookshelves are all in a bit of a mess still, but we are getting there.....
Teresa, have a great time with Michaela, celebrate the shopping....(and keep a tight hold on your purse, lol!)
Caz got a bit of a fright, had a phone call of nothing in the night, then couldn't sleep again till it was light, bless her, never thought to phone cops or her Mum, silly girl, told her to do just that if it happens again.....

Chinese sounds lovely and the Thai salad, phaps you can send some of that down with the sunshine?!! Michaela doing ok, we've got past the dreaded 'day 10' but she has a bad cough and been very snappy and moody today, I know its only a side effect of the treatment but she's only like it with me..never mind? Hope you had a good day, how has Richard been, is he still working? xxxx
Thanks for that, yes i have been told that you have to put down the worst day on those forms, well it has got worse since his radio, and suffering with his back pain. i'm hoping that the paperwork will be sorted out on Tuesday.
Hi Honey, sorry to hear about your Dad, especially with the fact of him not knowing yet..silly question but I hope you are ok?! Just a thought, with regards to benefit, can you not ask your Dad's Dr for a DS1500, I got one from our Dr's for Michaela which then entitled her to the higher rate of DLA (Michaela's Mac nurse gave us that advice and even offered to help fill in the forms) Hope things get better soon hun, thinking of you all love and hugs Teresa xxxx
