Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

    Hi Martyn,

Hope the unbearable is getting a little better for you, it is a strange place when you have lost a loved one.  It does get a little easier with time although I have Lee's kids to remind me but I don't know what you have to keep you close to Doreen.  Keep your chin up and make life liveable as Doreen would have wanted that I'm sure.

Very sad to hear about Juleigh to, we exchanged many messages on here being the oldies.

To everyone else on here, my fingers are crossed for you.

    Mike xx

Well, you can always come over to my place and do my housework for me...!

Even though I'm doing things and going places with friends, I find my my very emotionally boring now.

Before Ali got ill, I was usually spending quite a bit of my day looking forward to either going home to her or waiting for her to come home.  I now find that I'm still in a state of waiting, but now it's unresolved.  So now when I'm working at home, I'm waiting for the time when I can go into the lounge and turn the TV on.  When i'm in the office, I'm waiting to go home and find something to eat.

    It's a very humdrum existence.

Hi all here on "we talk brain tumours",

I haven't posted on here for a few years now, I did read the posts on a daily basis until the whole website transfer business and forgot my password and before you know it did't have a clue where or what happened to the thread, but I am pleased to say not have I found my password I have also found the thread!

Everyone on here is an inspiration to me whether they are supporting their loved ones, lost someone or suffering themselves, the support that you give to everyone on here is amazing.  I now want to make a point of logging on here more often and help, support and give advise as I have been through it all and am lucky enough to still be here.

This May will be 5 years since undergoing surgery and radiotherapy, and the support that Macmillan gave me during my hardest times I will never forget and the love and support that people on here gave me helped me through the hardest days.  I want to give my condolences to those who have lost on here, there is no easy way of moving on from this and if your just reading the posts like I did in the beginning, I hope you find something from them on here.

To say a big thanks to Macmillan I am doing a sponsored challenge walk from London to Brighton...quite a mission considering I lost use of my right leg after surgery, but I am all back together again and working fine so although it will be a tough 100km, i've had worse!

So for those who feel there is no light at the end, there is you just have to keep positive and keep going, times will be hard and testing but you have to keep going whatever the outcome.

    Thoughts to you all,

    Brad

Good to see you, Brad.  And a 100km walk, that's quite an undertaking!!

If you want more sponsorship, let us know the details.

Glad to see that things are well with you, we do love to read a success story.

    Hi Pete,

Good to see you too.  I have just come back from a 2 hour walk so feet feel sore...what have I let myself in for ha ha.

It is hard to be exited on here as many, like yourself, have lost people so if my success helps others believe them I'm pleased about that.  I will sort a link out for my virgin giving fundraising page and if anyone would like to sponsor that would be lovely, any amount goes a long way to helping macmillan support.

Hope you are feeling ok tonight,

    Take care.

    Update March 2012 -

we saw the oncologist and he was gobsmacked to see how well Teresa is doing; hard to believe that it is almost 2 years now without any treatment.

Anyway, we discussed the Novalis machine and he went into the ins and outs and issues, didn't dismiss treatment but asked if Teresa would have a scan. She did, and we went back for result.

It appears that the tumour (Grade IV GBM) is dormant!! No noticeable increase in size from scan 2 years ago. Feels like we had a lottery win. Anyway after deliberations and issues of further treatment it's now a case of "letting sleeping dogs lie" for now.
