Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

Hi all, I have been reading about you all over the last few days, and am amazed by your courage, strength and most of all love. Your stories have both terrified me and given me hope. My wonderful, most amazing Daddy has a frontal lobe GBM grade IV. We got the diagnosis just over a week ago. He has had a partial debulking, they could not get a lot. He is 62. He will start chemo and radiotherapy soon. I am thinking of introducing my mum to this group as think she will like you all so will keep my note short but want to say hello, and let you know I am thinking of you all. And thank you, for being brave enough to share - it has helped already Victoria x

Morning friends (and new travellers on the train)

I said I would come back if I did something stupid.......well it didn't take long did it, but are any of you surprised.....no there is no need to answer that one.

It's just a short story today, the first day of BRAIN TUMOUR AWARENESS MONTH.  I am sure most of us have heard the famous line that Michael Caine said in the Italian Job  "you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!" well that's what I did.

Had my daughter home from school (long story, she's playing up again) and I was making lunch.  I put the oven on to warm up for my part-baked wholemeal baguette and went back in the lounge.  Five mins later I thought it should be sufficiently warmed, went back to the kitchen and thought 'mmmm smells a bit gassy' and without thinking hit the ignition button..............

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM hellfire and flames shot out of the oven, as it thankfully only blew the door open and not off!  Trouble is my family are so used to situations like this with me, Lara casually calls out "you ok mum?" not even bothering to get off the sofa.  "yes everything is fine" I call back, "anything singed?" she asks, "nope" I call back.  Was really lucky this time I think, even the tea-towel hanging on the oven door was OK, eyebrows and arm hair intact too!

Normal service has resumed again now - well normal for me, I mean it's highly over-rated anyway 'dontcha fink'.

Love & strength to anyone who wants or needs it xxx

Debs! You have just made me hoot with laughter and same with hubby- he's laughing too! Thank goodness you are okay and that you, and nothing else, are unharmed. I also had to laugh at your daughters attitude too....Glad that you are okay.

Hubby is getting more muddled with his words and I have to say all of us are getting used to it so much now...even the dog. He was trying to say the word ' lets get your lead.....' and he was there saying 'that thing.....Tinks ....that thing that goes around your neck!' and with that, she jumped up and got her lead!!! The fact we had got our coats and shoes on may have given it away slightly but she knew what he was talking about!! He's on his second cycle of chemo at the moment. Scan is due in about 6 weeks and we just hope that the chemo is doing its job.

Thinking of both Pams for tomorrow. You both and your families thinking of you.

Thinking of everyone no matter what road of the journey you are on.

Haha that made me laugh too. Does your house have a hazard warning or just you? I love the way your daughter takes it as the norm.
We went out to lunch with Jay to-day,he finds being at home on his own so boring, we try to go somewhere different each week to go. Found a lovely old pub in the middle of no where and all had ham eggs and chips and enjoyed the drive in the sunshine with the windows DOWN!

Think we may be buying his car from him as DVLA won't let him drive again til  July 2013. It seems silly to lots, but I expect you'll all understand just how important it was to him to get his licence back before. He felt he had made it. Oh well be even better next year won't it?

Just want to add my thoughts will be with everyone tomorrow too.
    xxxx

We celebrated our 32nd Wedding Anniversary on the 1st I went into complete meltdown but we had a really lovely evening and meal Alan in his hospital bed telling me how lovely the dinner was if only he could remember what he had eaten (five minutes) afterwards.

I have fantastic carers one of whom has chosen to lay the bare facts to family members , will comeback later with a full on Julie rant as Son has just arrived.

It is soooo lovely to be back Julie xxxxxxxxxx
