Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

Im sure you will do a fantastic job supporting children Bodrul- your back in 'fighting' mode I can tell. From my experience oncologists tell you the worse case scenario and as we know there are exceptions and 'little miracles' and I wish and hope your one x

    Hi Bodrul

Welcome to the forum - you'll get lots of support on here.  You're so right to stay positive.  My husband was diagnosed with an Grade 3 anaplastic oligodendroglioma nearly 7 years ago in 2004 when he was 43, and he's still very much here with the scans showing no regrowth.  AO3 does have a slightly better prognosis, especailly if you have the genetic deletions which make the tumour more sensitive to chemotherapy.

The doctors where my husband was treated didn't give him a definite prognosis, because they just don't know, so he just takes one day at a time and makes the most of life.  Sounds like you are doing the same.  Debs, who often posts on this forum also has a AO3, but more recently diagnosed, so there are others here with that type of tumour.

    Take care of yourself

Thanks Dianne, I hope so, I really want to do this, and I will as long as I have the energy in me, I feel weaker everyday but i'll keep going as long as I can. Even if I can help 1 child it will be worth it.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your support, it really does make a difference. When i'm feeling down i will remember these words and the kindness of strangers. Its hard to stay positive all the time but I try and look at the brighter side, can't always see it. Life has completely changed in 8 weeks, its like being shot in the dark but I don't know who by. Still adjusting to the life changes. I use to be so active, working than socialising, needed few hours sleep than ready for the next day, could still walk 10 miles, had so much energy, now i feel so tired not doing anything, still not use to it. My bodies stronger than I realised, doctors told me my bodies reacting well to all the drugs im taking, alot of people struggle but i'm doing really well. I'll fight any drug they give me and I'll still be on my feet. nothings going to keep me down. If you can make it through the night theres a brighter day. Never give up hope. I'm alive, im breathing, i'm fighting it, brain fully functioning, if anything more active than ever. STAY POSITIVE AND THANK YOU

    Lots of love

There is a young persons thread somewhere too -carry on posting here but it may also help for you to talk to some of the young people on their forum as you know EXACLTLY how each other is feeling -well maybe not exactly as everone is individual but there are commonalities xxx I think its normal to be negative/positive/optomistic and pessimistic all in the same day! and especially whilst in treatment as it makes you feel like ---t!!!! Goodness me , I leave for one day to celebrate a birthday and come back to a hive of activity!

Bodrun, as the others have said we will do what we can to support you. You mention your mum, Is she getting any support? I hope so.  Remember the statisitics used by our consultants are just numbers and usually based on details that are up to 10 years old so dont take into account the new therapies.

    Bodrul,

Sometimes life deals you blows that knock you to your knees.  But no matter what happens, we all have to get up and move forward.  Life goes on.

That short sentence is from a book given to me by some very good friends whilst I was recovering from surgery and have now become my moto.

I see from your post that you have a positve attitude and thats a good thing to have, at time you will get your down moments but hopefully they will be very few.

POSITIVE THINKING IS THE WAY TO GO.  all the very best
