Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

Hi Jill,  Sorry to hear about Jim. but really glad he is on the mend... Its strange when you are a carer you really don't think about youself.. So to all that read Jill post Take care of yourselfs..xx

Jill, sorry to hear that Jim has had a health scare of his own. It's the last thing Sue needs at the moment but I am sure he is in good hands. Your advice to carers is very pertinent and wise. I sometimes wonder whether my Mum neglected or ignored some possible warning signs that she was ill herself during the last difficult few months of my Dad's life but that is something I will never know.

It's always good to hear from you and to know how Sue is getting on. Please pass on my good wishes to her.

    Love to all,

    Sue

    Hello Jill,

I am so sorry to read about Jim and feel awful for not being in touch with them both, but I have recently learnt through a not too dissimilar experience. It's a lonely situation isn't it? Thankfully we have been able to call on the local hospice to help us both.

We both send our best wishes to all on here.  Doreen and Martyn.

    Hi Jill

Please pass on my and Mum's love to Jim and Sue.  I hope Jim continues to recover well and manages to take things a little easier for a while.  How are you doing?  Are you still studying?

Take care, love Ali and Hazel xx

PS I don't post very often now, but still read from time to time.  Lots of love and hugs to everyone xxx

    Hi folks,

Jill, - can I join the reunion!

Just want to pass on my best wishes to your dear twin Sue and Jim.  Also my love to Martyn and Doreen.

Things a bit fraught with me at the moment, as my mum is in last stages of kidney cancer.  Having to go through it all again - getting carers in, D.N.s, respite people etc - my sister having to do most of the running around, as I am 3 or 4 hours drive away.  Brings it all back..........

love to all, new and old

    Ann

  • Ann, sweetheart, what a lovely surprise to have you drop in.  For all you dear people posting on this website, Ann is one of our oldies who cared for her husband throughout his battle with GBM and during the course of all this found her mum had kidney cancer.

Ann, you're welcome at any reunion that I'm at and I will never forget that you were the first one of our original gang who I met at the Trowell service station on the M1.  Wasn't that a special time!!

Sending you megahugs, my dear friend.  I'm so sorry you're facing this old foe once again and I hope it comforts you a little to know old friends are sending their very warm wishes.

    Love to all

    Jill

    Well I can't resist a virtual reunion :)

Jill, do you remember when you hid the moose's head on the train after one of Robin's parties in the guard's van?!

Ann, it must be very hard. Sending you a bit of Dutch courage - the liquid variety of course because I know you have more than enough real strength.

    Best wishes to all reading.
    CHxx

Then we had the 'Ikea gang,'  the 'just off the M1 mates' and then a double dose of the 'Nuneaton nutters.'  The support and friendship was awesome, good memories.

Ann,  so sorry to hear of Mum, best wishes. XXXX

Ali, we hope Mum is still ok? please give her our love. XXXX

  • Ali, it occurred to me after signing off that I still hadn't answered your post, I was just so excited to hear from some of my old friends.

Yes, I'm finished studying, thankfully.  As much as I enjoyed it, I was diagnosed last year with myopic macular degeneration so, in short, I'm going blind.  Things are stable at the moment, thanks to some injections of Lucentis into the eye but it's good that skool is over!  Where are you at with your studies?  How is your mum doing?  Love to you both.

CH, I had to admit it but I still can't remember where I hid the moose's head and he wants it back!  I'm also looking for my car keys, my cell phone and the dog.

Martyn, ahh yes, I remember the Ikea Six.  And those dishy Swedish blokes beside us.  You know, even in bad times, we all found ways to have some good times too, didn't we.  I think often of you and Doreen and glad we had a chance to meet.

Hello again to all you special people on this site.  It is good to see you all reaching out to each other even in your darkest times.  This site has been a godsend to so many and I hope it will raise your spirits too.  We need each other.

Ann, sending you a special hug.

Love to all, posters and readers alike.

    Jill
