Hi everyone
I am just trying to navigate myself around the site. Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Green Tree sorry to hear about the problems your father is experiencing and in turn how it makes you feel. Has a district nurse undertaken a thorough 'continence assessment' ? as the problems with the pads doesnt seem right. There are a multitude of products that are available - I have a copy somewhere that I will send you if you email me your address or email? Constipation can make urinary incontince worse so get that sorted first. Sometimes a urinary infection can also make maintaining continence difficult. Avoid fizzy drinks, or anything brown -tea and coffee contain tannin which can contribute to bladder instability -It could also be neurological which is more difficult to manage. Has a sample been sent? they can also use a ' conveen' its not a catheter but means that the urine will flow into a bag. All worth trying to maintain your Dads dignity and also your work load ... and stress.
If the District nurses can not sort out suitable appliances ask that a 'continence advisor' visit as they may be able to help and could prescribe the most suitable products for your Dad.
Sorry but it may help take care love Dianne J xx
My darling husband passed away at 5am today. I woke this morning at 4.30am and was lying there listening to him breath. I was very wide awake and finally decided to get up and make a cuppa. I then took the blanket off me and put it over Graham and then kissed him on the forehead and immediately after that he took his final breaths. Wow, what more could I ask of him, he was waiting for me to wake up before he went. Another memory for me to cherish.
God bless you my darling. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
