Hi everyone
I am just trying to navigate myself around the site. Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Julie,
Calling for an ambulance doesn't neccessarily mean Alan going into hospital. The paramedics should be able to run some ECG/heart traces and run an initial assessment. They won't take Alan into hospital without you agreeing to it, but they may press if they feel there's a big enough need.
Have you checked his blood sugar level today?
Just logged on...hope things are better Julie? I ,like the others would call ambulance. If they say that Alan should go to the hospital then you can tell Alan it is for further tests but that you will bring him home when they are finished ....as I know that is what you would want to do anyway. Your GP sounds very uncaring. Do you have a phone number for Hospice nurse? I found that they were the ones who recognised symptoms and got things moving. What about phoning Braintrust....on the link they posted on this Forum this week they said you could phone for advice?
Hope you get through the day Julie. Thinking of you as always.
love Cathixxx
Julie, glad to hear Alan is sleeping soundly. Hopefully the doctor will arrive soon and put both your minds at rest or suggest another course of action.
Well done for getting through this, I would have been a mass of jelly wobbling all over the place, good job its me with the tumour as Tony is very calm and level-headed. I am an emotional wreck!!!!!
Still sending love & strength xxx
Hi everyone, Alan has had probably a stroke TIA the next six hours will tell, or if not a bleed to the brain.GP told me I and Alan are in denial need to talk things through and he is now on the decline - BASTARD thanks to u guys getting the support I need and to my very special friend who I know reads the forum but is no longer a member has been such a support. I will keep u updated. tc everyone :{{{{{ xxxx
Sorry to hear of this, Julie. Talk to your GP and your Mac nurse when things get stabilized. You're going to need a great deal more help, I think. Take as much as you can and give yourself the capacity to support Alan on an emotional level, let other people cope on the physical side of things.
You will adjust, you will cope.
Strength be with you.
Julie I hope the bleed/stroke has not done too much damage to Alan. Be gentle on yourself and take care of you, don't worry about us lot, we will be here for YOU for as long as you need.

Sorry have only just come on line and wouldn't be here if Cathi hadn't said you were having a tough time. As others have said calling 999 doesn't necessarily mean you will have to go to hospital the paramedics are empathetic and knowlegable, they will guide you. Having a seizure doesn't mean he should be admitted unless you are worried, this time tho it sounds as tho he has had a bleed, having said that it is unlikely any active treatment would be given so if you are confident and as long as you have the support at home there is n reason to move him. If you stay at home and feel you need help phone the district nurses who will visit and if necessary they (or you) can call the emergency social work team, there is someone there 24/7, they can perform an emergency assessment even over the weekend and put support in immediately. Look after yourself, you are on a roller coaster and you need to be gentle on yourself.
Debs - as always you remain an inspiration, hoping your scan date comes thru just the day before you have to have it and that the team provide your results immediately
Love to everyone
