Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

Pffft. That's passing the buck somewhat! Ultimately ITV are responsible for it as they broadcast it!

At least you got a response I spose, albeit a flaky one!

    Hi there

This is the email I sent to Adam Crozier - Chief Exec of ITV in response to the viewing of Wild at Heart and their portrayal of some one suffering  from GBM4

    Dear Mr Crozier

I would like to lodge an official complaint about the episode aired last night Sunday 9th January of Wild of Heart.

One of the characters was portrayed as suffering from a GBM4 Glioblastoma Multiforme. I feel the way in which this Character died was totally misdescriptive of what actually happens to a person who is at the terminal stage of this horrific cancer.

Having watched my sister suffer over a number of weeks until she was totally bedridden ,unable to communicate, in terrible pain, confused and heartbreakingly distressed I can but wonder at who you tasked with researching this disease, they clearly did NOT bother to do any research what so ever.

Brain Cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer but sadly does not get as much publicity as some of the other types.. Maybe this is because it one of the more DISTRESSING types. Certainly  I wonder why also whenever a 'sensitive' subject or traumatic way of dying is shown on television normally at the end of the credits a Help Line telephone is shown offering help and support to anyone who might have been affected. Why was there no such help offered at the end of last nights programme?

I would like to hear your comments and what action you will take on this matter.
I have yet to receive a response..

Much as I can only guess, the further in to this hideous journey I travel - the more aware I am becoming of the devastating effects of this disease. I am shocked and saddened and just plain angry at the toll it's currently taking on my dad.

I am always here to listen even if I can offer no worthwhile advice. Your daughter will be with you forever and I don't know what your personal beliefs are but it brings me comfort to believe that when my time comes, my dear dad will be waiting for me. I'm sorry I can't say anything to make you feel better but sometimes it's a comfort to have someone acknowledge the pain you're in, hey. Just to know people (even if they're strangers) haven't forgotten.

    Much love,

    Naomi.x

I disappeared for a few days because my father was re admitted after he became totally unstable etc.  He had further surgery on Monday but today they have told us there is nothing more they can do. The tumour came back within 6 weeks of surgery larger than it was initially.

We don't know how long he has but I guess its a bit of an unknown.
