Where has anyone found helpful for support for friends of cancer patients like in person groups or online groups as i have been struggling to find any there's alot out there for family and carers to access but not for friends so any help or advice would be appreciated .

In the webpage for Maggies there is a section on support for friends and family and they generally do a open drop in when they are open.
Are you working? If so then an employee assistance programme may be helpful.
There is a page here on Emotional support for family and friends that could be helpful.
Of course you can always post on here too.
