Prostate side effects

  1. My Hubby was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in early October 2024, to say it came as a shock was an understatement. He had been hospitalised in late May with a clot in his Lung, end of June, he got a phone call, they found something in his blood, and so all the tests began. He had no symptoms, it wasn't until they phoned him to come in for a Bone scan that it hit us like a bolt from the blue, what they where looking for. They couldn't operate, he's on blood thinners for life so, he started on Abiraterone and the injections every 12 weeks. His PSA dropped dramatically and by November, he was put forward for 20 sessions of Radiotherapy. That happened January 2025. The side effects kicked in at the end of week 3. The cancer is under control and undetectable, the hot flushes from the Hormone treatment continue and possible damage to his bowel because of the Radiotherapy. Sometimes I get so angry with this disease, he's lost a lot of his muscle mass, gets really tired, lost his appetite, so smaller meals more often. We tried to keep this news to ourselves because our oldest Gr/daughter had just told the Family she was expecting her 1st child but it's been a really tough couple of years. This disease is just awful
