So very worried about my husband who was diagnosed only 3 months ago with stage 4 bowel cancer with mets all over the liver. It was a total shock - he went into hospital with suspected appendicitis - and since then he’s lost over 2 stone in weight and is now struggling to eat and drink.
He had his first palliative chemo 4 weeks ago (but dose had to be reduced by 60%) and should have had second cycle last week but was deemed too unwell. Not sure if it was side effects or the cancer spreading. Due to go for bloods tomorrow with chemo on Wednesday, but he’s eaten next to nothing for the last 3 days and whilst he managed 2 litres of water yesterday, it’s been barely 1litre today. We have the ensure drinks but they make him feel sick so he doesn’t want them.
this evening he’s started retching and feeling very sick again. He doesn’t want to go to hospital as fears he’ll never come home.
Wondering if this is actually him reaching the end of life stage?
