Hi all
I cant put into words how scared and lost i am feeling. My mum has been diagnosed with non hodgikins Lymphoma ( marginal) she has been in hospital for 3 months and has had 6 infections within that time. This has made mum very weak and frail. This is the second time mum has had non hodgkins lymphoma mum had her spleen removed in around 1998. This time the lymphoma is by her bladder and it has spread to the uretha ( stage 4 ) because of mums age (75) and mums over all health, mum has diabetes and was diagnosed with alziehmers as well. The consultant said chemotherapy is too strong for mum and will make her more ill. I asked about radiotherapy she said again it's much to strong for mum. She offered steroids short term ( 1 week ) and told me this would not be in mums best interests as it would send mums blood sugars very high and plus the side affects of steroids are infection and confusion. Consultant said it is pallative care only now. Pallative care nurses will go and meet mum next week. Mum has only been home since last week and already she has another infection ( water infection ) feel sick with worry. I have posted here a few weeks ago but just need people to speak to
