My mum was diagnosed with PTCL around 8 months ago. 6 weeks ago we were told her scans show her lymph nodes have shrunk, and that we will be prepping her for a stem cell transplant that can offer a cure.
Fast forward to two weeks ago, and she starts experiencing a fever and night sweats again. She deteriorated fast to the point of not being able to communicate. Today we found out her cancer is refractory and has spread throughout her abdomen. Her prognosis is now poor.
I am devastated by this, and feel completely blind sided after celebrating not so long ago.
I feel so alone, like a piece of me is detaching and am struggling to come to terms with the fact I may lose her.
