Thank you so much for your kind comments and support. The hardest thing in all of this is that my husband hasn’t yet been able to come to terms with the reality of his situation and how life will be so different for before he was diagnosed. He is hoping that when he comes home life will return to as it was and he will be able to walk again. How on earth do you prepare anyone for the future that is going to be so different from what it was?
Hi Teatowel the simple answer to this is you can't prepare them. It is helpful to explain how it might be but people don't always want to listen sadly.. He is likely to need plenty TLC but then so will you so please don't forget about looking after you when he does get home. Sending hugs your way. Gail xx
