Hi all
My sister has been having treatment for past two years. She is currently having a break from treatment but she is really struggling both physically and mentally. Her GP wants her to have a blood transfusion de to anaemia but hospital saying levels not quite low enough.
She is also struggling mentally and is very scared about her future. She is a private person and won't speak to any support services. I don't know how to help her through these tough times.
Thanks Eva
Hi Eva
It sounds quite difficult with the GP saying one thing and the hospital something different, I wonder how your sister feels about this. I certainly have had conversations with my GP in the past where he had noted that he felt the hospital simply ignored him.
I wonder perhaps if she might come on here, not quite the same as speaking to support services since things on here are peer-to-peer - in my case my wife with the cancer - and we have the plus of all being done through our virtual id so can feel less like opening up the privacy issues.
Something I find quite helpful for me is looking at your feelings when someone has cancer because that helps me recognize my own emotions and recognize them as normal and that helps me to be there when Janice needs me.
<<hugs>>
Steve
