Think we all have experienced cancer friend family colleagues at work neighbours or through my job I've experienced mostly. But in my job I can switch off emotions feel empathy be professional but caring when its someone closer spouse/partner /parent /child I'm finding it difficult with my partner causing stressful days which can lead to arguing which I don't wish to happen at a maggies today talking to one of the helpers he expressed I sounded stressed and yes after driving from 6am to hospital appointment 3 hrs sleep I just felt tired I'm not going through the cancer but it feels equally draining.
Hi SallyWestie welcome to the forum. You are absolutely right about the families they sometimes take a back seat. That said maybe because you are already at a Maggies why not see if they have any support they can offer for you. They do cater for families so worth looking into. Don't be too hard on yourself none of this is easy and you need an outlet as well so look after you.
