My mother has terminal cancer and my partner doesn't understand my feelings and doesn't give me any support. He denies the whole situation and makes me feel guilty that we are not doing more things together. Whenever I try to explain, the conversation is avoided.
Can somebody help me?
Hi Joju
Many people find any conversation around cancer very difficult, I know my sister-in-law seemed to find things difficult when my wife got cancer because it reminded her so much of her own cancer history.
So glad you came here, though we are not there with you the community is very supportive. It took me a long time to reach out for some help. I find a lot of the issues in your emotions when someone has cancer really quite accurate and then recognizing the emotion and accepting it as valid can help make it less overwhelming.
<<hugs>>
Steve
