Welcome to our community though sorry you have this worry. It does sound like the hospital are taking things sensibly and hopefully will get to the root of what the issue is.
A CT scan can be really informative though it will pick up all sorts of things since nobody is the ideal model. We sometimes use the term scanxiety on here as pretty much everyone is worried about what might be found.
It is likely to be a while before your mum gets to hear the result of the CT scan, certainly worthwhile knowing when you might expect that result as it can help to be able to put it in a box rather than worrying that there is no news so far.
