Hello, I took my dad into hospital on Wednesday as he had a funny turn. At the time we thought is was a stroke as his right side was affected and speech was slurred.
the head scan showed lesions on the brain and his mri has since shown lung and kidneys are affected too.
we are currently waiting for the MDT but I’m finding it really hard to understand what’s going on. I feel like it’s not happening fast enough and I need to know yesterday what’s going on.
I’m struggling to understand some nurses as their English isn’t well pronounced, I petrified of what they are going to say. And my dad is struggling to accept it. He stops himself from crying when wtalk about it. He doesn’t want to see anyone as it makes it real I guess. I just feel so so sad for him. He’s such a kind soul
Hi Dexter 123 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I haven't been in your position, as I was the one with cancer, but I know what a difficult time this will be for you and your dad.
Once his team have all the information they need from tests, scans, etc they will be able to give your dad his personalised treatment plan.
In the meantime just let your dad take everything at his own pace.
Sending virtual ((hugs))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
