My daughter was diagnosed with sclc 3 weeks ago it is also in her liver 3 spots and a small spot in her spine. She was getting some pain in the right side of her abdomen before the cancer was diagnosed. The hospital and Macmillion nurses have been incredible. She has started chemotherapy that they said was platinum and immunotherapy. She has only had the first cycle at the moment.

What I want to ask is has anyone else had increased pain after a chemotherapy cycle?

She has been prescribed pain medication by her GP but yesterday she has been given oramorph for the breakthrough pain. Has anyone else had this. I am reading on here such lovely stories of survival and praying my daughter will do as well. She has a 14 year old son.

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to hear that your daughter has been diagnosed with sclc and that her pain has increased after her first cycle of chemotherapy.

Could I suggest that you join and post this question in the lung cancer group as there you'll benefit from the experiences of others with this type of cancer. To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your daughter's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
