Hi Partner had back pain Oct 2019, muscular, UTI, etc said GP.  Numbess one side of face,  one leg dragging.  Blood tests, X Rays etc, pain still severe so rang 111 22 Dec - Ambulance - A & E - head Xray - lesions on brain.  Admitted - CT, MRI - probable lung cancer, secondaries brain & spine.  Broncosposy 3 Jan 2020 - inconclusive - biopsy - confirmed lung cancer - first oncology appointment due Monday (17 Feb 2020) - deterioration in breathing has been unbelievably rapid - can no longer climb stairs to bathroom.  I am holding it together (barely) & trying (with little success because it's the weekend) to get a bed downstairs for him plus a commode.  Just hope I can get him to oncology appointment ........

  • Good luck @bclab for Monday's appointment.

So sorry to hear about your partner’s diagnosis.  Sadly, sometimes it can take a while before a cancer is diagnosed, as there are so many other things that could be causing the symptoms. My mum also had a delay, with her GP also citing a UTI, but after two ambulances, a colonoscopy and bowel surgery resulting in a stoma, her cancer was finally diagnosed.  It sounds like your partner has also had a number of procedures and investigations and each one needs an appointment, then an analysis, then another appointment before you can move forward.

Make sure you keep the doctors informed of his condition, as they may be able to give him things that make him more comfortable. Good luck for monday’s appointment.
