Hi everyone. I'm trying to find out some information for my Dad & Stepmother who are living in France.

My Stepmother has beaten breast cancer twice but  was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just before Christmas and has been in hospital for the past 3 weeks.

May Dad was told yesterday that she will not be strong enough to undergo any further chemotherapy and that there isn't a great deal more they can do.

We're hoping that we can try to get her back to the UK before she passes but are not sure how things will work out.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation that would be willing to share their experience? Any information I can give him would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to hear that your stepmother has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

You might like to think about joining the pancreatic cancer group where you'd benefit from the experiences of others who have had this cancer. If you'd like to do this clicking on the link I've created will take you directly to the group's home page.

I can understand why you'd want your stepmother to move back to the UK and don't know if you've investigated how to go about this yet. If not then you might find this information from the NHS on moving to England from the EU helpful.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your stepmother's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
