Hiya, just wanted to introduce myself because I guess I’m going to be here a lot.

My mum has been diagnosed with various cancers liver, bone, in the lymph nodes and lung with a possibility of it being in her spine she has already been told it is untreatable. See is in the early stages of diagnosis. She was supposed to have a biopsy on her liver to see if that is the primary cancer but due to bed shortages she got sent home without having it done today which to be fair I am fuming about because it is my mum and she needs to know what’s going on well we all do feel like we are in limbo but I do realise the NHS is in a state so not angry at them just angry. I just don’t know what I am doing how to help her how to direct her to get her stuff in order. Anyway that’s me any help or advice would be greatly received xx

I know every experience is different and you probably feel in limbo right now, I certainly felt this when my mom was undergoing various test and biopsies. We were however given the details of a nurse specialist who was very helpful and also my moms Macmillan nurse. If you haven’t had anything like this give the number a call for now and they should be able to just give some reassurance etc. These times at the start are the most difficult and can feel very lonely and disjointed, but hopefully in time you’ll feel you have more of a support network.

I hope the biopsy gets rescheduled soon. I remember hanging on for biopsy result and that being a really unsure time. We hoped they would hold the answer but typically because my mom is never straightforward it’s more like we are looking at primary of unknown origin. It is already in moms spine, hip, sternum and rib cage. Which are all secondary. The future certainly isn’t what we had hoped or wanted but trying to get things in order and enjoy the time we have xx
