so my mum has breast cancer and rceentley she went to the hospital and they found it spread and we’ve been told she only has a year to live i really need some help on what to expect leading up to this and how to deal with it
Hi rin17732. I'm letting you know you are not alone. My mum has stage 4 Breast cancer with brain, bone and lung mets.
My dad, sister and brother are taking each day one at a time as that's all we can do.
Mum seems to be admitted to hospital every 3rd week due to very low platelet levels(collapsing) The hospital has decided its better for her to come in twice a week at the day center instead.
If my mum has been given a 'timescale' she or dad aren't telling us as the can both be very stubborn and not like to 'worry' their children.
One thing I find very stressful is the not knowing and the roller coaster up and down feeling I get. Also, I dread the phone ringing now-as I'm always expecting bad news.
You are not alone x
