I don’t know how long it will take for the diagnosis to sink in that my mum has cancer. It’s only been a few days and still undergoing tests but it’s like I can’t accept it and all very surreal still. I have mental health issues as well as does my mum.
Hi, this is a perfectly normal reaction. You've both had a big shock.
Do you have any support from other family or friends
If not,all the more reason I'm glad you found your way to this site. When you feel up to it,do put a bit in your profile n join the relevant cancer type group for your mum's cancer then you'll get even more support from folk with similar experience to your mum's.
Just seen the Highlander,'s detailed response. That's what comes of reading posts backwards!
Hello and thank you so much for your reply to my thread. Really meant a lot and knowing my reactions are normal. When I joined yesterday Thehighlander was very helpful and packed so much info and advice to his replies so looked for groups to join and joined 2 so far.
I think I’ve already put some in the profile but will add to it as time goes on.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
