I’ve just joined this forum as I feel overwhelmed and worried.
My mum is 66 and was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, recurrence in 2014 and has bone metastases in spine with fluid in lungs.
She was also diagnosed early this year with Alzheimer’s.
Her cancer has been a very slow progress and is now taking a serious effect on her health. I’m so scared and fear what is to follow and find myself struggling.
It is very hard seeing your loved one suffer and change in front your eyes....
Hi , hi and welcome to the community.
It must be so worrying to have the cancer and the Alzheimer’s as both are diseases that can have a big impact on those who care/love them.
Hopefully the doctors can contain the suffering but yes I recognise the issues with change though of course we all do that all the time really.
You might like to look at I'm looking after someone with cancer and I am sure you will recognise some of the issues and the importance of looking after yourself too.
