My dad has been fighting prostate cancer for the last 9 years and now we have been told he had 2 masses appear - 1 bottom of his spine and 1 in his left lung. They are doing emergency surgery on saturday in London on his lung and I feel sick. My mum will stay up there but we are travelling daily. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions to help with the next few days as it's been pretty rubbish. Thanks for any advice.

Good luck for your Dad’s op tomorrow . Make an upbeat play list of music for your journey.

I know you will enjoy seeing your Dad, but it may also cause you to think about him and worry as well, so try and plan in something nice during the day as well, either something relaxing or something energetic what ever works for you. It might also give you something funny to talk about with your Dad, or perhaps get him to help plan what you do next. My Mum when she was tired and lying in bed said she loved people talking quietly but happily and interesting around her, and it became evident that sometimes when we thought she might be asleep she was sometimes just resting and listening.

    Best wishes

Thankyou. I will sort some music to listen too. Also think of what we can chat about. X
