Hi Everyone,
Newbie here. My mum was diagnosed with lung cancer a few weeks ago, which was found totally by accident. She has never smoked in her life, although she has always lived with smokers, and had no symptoms.
According to the PET CT, the cancer is contained in the left lung and she is due to have a lobectomy in the next few weeks. Her husband is currently very poorly in hospital too and I'm worried about how they will manage when they both come out of hospital.
Does anyone here have any experience of a similiar situation or can advise where to get support for them please?
Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to hear that your mum has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. As you have discovered, you don't have to be a smoker to get that type of cancer. If you want to be able to ask questions and share experiences with others who have lung cancer then I can recommend joining the lung cancer group.
It's understandable that you're worried how your mum and her husband will cope when they both come out of hospital so you might find this information from Macmillan helpful.
