hi all
its been a while since I have posted cos it's all gone a bit wrong I was called by mum last Monday dad didn’t seem well and was vomiting blood so we went up the hospital it was a horrible experience I had to keep telling the staff to wash their hands, they didn’t get why they kept saying my hands are clean but it’s not about that.
he spent 15 hours in A&E!! His potassium was low, the chemo has made his immune system to low (there is a term but I don’t know it) then they got him off A&E they put in in a 6 bed bay sharing a bathroom with 5 others and no was listening that it wasn’t safe.
He is now in the marsden and they are looking after him so well but he his swallow is not safe he has lost a lot of weight and now has an NGT, I’m so proud of him and how he is fighting I’m finding it hard to keep going to see him it really upsets to see him so frail I keep thinking this time 6 months ago he was so strong!
They said they might skip the next round of chemo and go straight to chemo radio therapy everyone keeps telling me the radio therapy is the hardest one and he is struggling with this Stage what if he doesn’t make it!
Hi , good to hear he is out and that they think he is strong enough for more chemo, they would not give it unless they thought it will help. You might like to look at I'm looking after someone with cancer and I am sure you will recognize lots of the emotions we all share.
<<hugs>>
Steve
