in januart i found out my mum had brest cancer she has done realy well she has had all her chemo and her operashon is in a weeks time then just a week ago found out my dad has lung cancer my dad lives with me dont know were to take him what to say to him to help suport him
Hi sorry to read this it must be such a shock to think you were almost clear of cancer but then find cancer has found another way of getting to you.
It is likely to be a little while before your dad finds the extent of what treatment might be an option for him, in the meantime it is probably helpful to concentrate on how things are on a day to day basis.
Many cancer patients just ask to be treated normally, some will not even tell close friends in case they are treated differently and that can be really chalenging for their whole family.
You might like to look at or even post in Lung cancer forum where there will be people at all stages with real experience of dealing with this beast.
